13/3/2024 09:07 | M2 It was a long time ago I stopped wondering. Algos are one of the main smoke bombs. It was a long time ago that I read (respected publication) that the MMs employed people to monitor these boards and ramp and de ramp. I wouldnt imagine that is still the case as I rarely come across it these days - maybe algos have made it unnecessary. I wouldnt say the markets are rigged so much as manipulated. Personally I would ban shorting - its a game for sharks and is anti business and against the spirit and raison d'etre of investing. Very much like giving invaders £3000 to leave again is against the spirit and raison d'etre of border control. More like madness | scruff1

13/3/2024 08:46 | DespiteBrexit "The UK is set to sign an agreement on closer trade co-operation with Texas as the British government continues to pursue state-level deals in the absence of a wider free trade agreement with the US. Trade Secretary Kemi Badenoch and Texas Governor Greg Abbott are expected to formally sign the agreement in Westminster on Wednesday. The agreement is not a trade deal, because individual US states do not have the power to sign these, but is similar to a memorandum of understanding designed to improve co-operation between businesses in Britain and Texas and tackle regulatory barriers to trade. Badenoch said: "I'm delighted to welcome Governor Abbott to the UK for this landmark signing. Today's signature with Texas marks the UK's eighth US state-level pact, meaning UK firms now have access to states with a combined GDP of GBP5.3 trillion – equivalent to a quarter of the whole US economy. This shows our US state-level strategy is working and really delivering for British businesses." The agreement is targeted particularly at the energy sector, as well as life sciences and business services" Republicans want a trade deal with UK. It is the Anti British/pro Ireland Democrats that do not. Trump 2024. | geckotheglorious

12/3/2024 21:51 | Tbf Netanyahu isn't that popular at home plenty of protests about judicial reforms/ power grab from supreme court. Netanyahu is rapidly becoming a law to himself a middle eastern Putin if you will. Considering the US are champions of democracy they've turned a blind eye lol so it wouldn't surprise anyone if Gazanians were subject to robust policing. Diane Abbott...shag it or shoot it? | utrickytrees |
