"The taking back control is only something which will become apparent over time. But Brexit is not intended to be an upfront drugs hit. More of a beautiful symphony to be enjoyed over the full length."

Evidence?

Or are we placing the future of our nation on hope alone?

Ever run a business sentiment because 'hope' doesn't cut the mustard. For someone educated at Oxford you like common sense AND wisdom. Where did it all go wrong?

You cannot see that as, having lost the vote, you need something immediate to cling to to try and advance your supposed argument. This is the gate and garden analogy, but seemingly beyond your ability to maturely engage. In fact, having failed to answer any question asked, you can not expect to be seen as anything other than a keyboard twerp.

Your education level?

minerve2,
I hope psycho was able to absorb the explanation of what taking back control actually means in practice and I think Pierre should read it too and learn something .
These Tory MPs used to use that expression constantly during the referendum campaign and no wonder the brexiteers became indoctrinated as it sounds inspiring but it is just a meaningless soundbite . They still have not realised that but maybe one day it will register with them .

When you trade, you have to compromise. But only as far as you are willing to .

I have often heard the argument that you always cede sovereignty when engaging in trade deals. Utter nonsense. You can walk away without penalty, akin to being a part of any other commercial deal with stated terms. You lose the benefits of membership, but that is the end of the matter.

The EU was no such “club”. It is a cult akin to the Branch Davidians. Look how that ended.

The U.K. only joined at a time when it was accepted as a mainly non-political relationship. The real deceit is what happened the following 40 years.

"Tricky, those three words “take back control” are likely the main contributory reason for the decision of the U.K. electorate to leave the EU."

➡️ Perhaps so. The soundbite is great, but the reality will turn out to be anything
➡️ but 'taking back control'.

➡️ 'Taking back control' is a complete misnomer. It doesn't matter whether you are
➡️ part of the EU, part of the CPTPP, or just one half of a bilateral trade agreement.
➡️ As soon as you trade you have to compromise. You have to give something in order to
➡️ receive something. If you want to SELL something it has to meet the requirements of
➡️ the receiving country. You don't have a free hand in making something to YOUR
➡️ specifications and then try to sell it. In otherwords, you will have no other
➡️ choice but to capitulate to the demands of others - or you can watch your economy
➡️ sink.

"The benefit of finally managing to open the gate to the garden of self-control is not the opening of the gate in itself, but the things you are now able to do in this garden. You can grow what you like petty well when you like. This will play out, most likely positively. Of course, it may be that we need to find a new gardener, rather than a mere locksmith, but we probably will. With the EU, we would have far too many weeds so that is why they got sacked (as well as having lost the key in the first place, and then conniving with non-democrats to fill the lock with glue)."

➡️ Eh? WTF are you trying to say. Mumbo Jumbo.

➡️ £350 million is real money. Where is it?

That is why, despite not being a fan of Ronaldo, I raised my glass when he swapped those coke bottles for a bottle of water! :)

There's enough sugar in a bottle of coke to sink a battleship...Amazed so many people suck bottles/cans of the stuff daily

In 2010, over 3,000,000 people died of obesity related reasons.

It would appear that Coca Cola is more dangerous to you than any vaccine.
