05/1/2021 11:01 | Yes Minerve, what they have failed to grasp is that the cheap foreign labour won't be stopping, in fact it will be continuing, just that it will be Nigerians, Ghananians, Jamaicans etc that will be replacing the Poles, Czechs, Slovaks etc. | ladeside
05/1/2021 10:50 | 50 percent of British farmland is left to grow grass because under CAP the farmers recieve money on unproductive fields the stupidity of buying products like potatoes from say Holland loading them on hundereds of thousands diesel guzzling lorries rather than growing them here the astronomical environmental damaged caused shows the ignorance of remainers who preach climate control and ignore this most vegetables and fruits are actually growen outside EU and unloaded at ports like Rotterdam and are loaded on diesel lorries causing environmental damage when it would be cheaper and more environmental friendly to unload them in uk ports | josh 32
05/1/2021 10:37 | "LADESIDE Post 327779 "Indeed Minerve, the "special relationship" doesn't exist, in fact Britain is despised by many Americans and the remainder are so ignorant that they don't even know what or where Briatin is, given that we're seen as completely inconsequential in the bigger picture" Not the experience I have had of Americans. Perhaps you rub off badly on people? Or you have just come across Democrats (Many are Irish, Hate Britain - eg Joe Biden) p.s As to your prior retort about the education many have received on this BB, it is Britain, not Briatin. | geckotheglorious
05/1/2021 10:34 | Net Immigration to UK 1991 to 1995 averaged 35,000 annually net Immigration to uk 2013 to 2018 was 287,000 in 1990s just 10 percent of population lived in rented homes its was 20 percent in 2018 and probably worse now young couples have been priced out of owning homes by landlords buying up houses for the extra 5 million unemoloyed homeless that have arrived invited by Mr Blair in 2004 1 million poles 150,000 somalians with Dutch passports are just some of the examples in fact people are so desperate that they are risking the lives of their families trying to come here rather than stay in the utopian dream EU | josh 32
05/1/2021 10:34 | LADESIDE Post 327761 "I have a feeling many will be waking up with that expression when the realisation of Brexit coupled with a major recession and record unemployment kicks in........" Pretty sure there should be a comma in that long winded sentence somewhere!!!!!!! LADESIDE Post 327763 "The English education system would appear to have failed terribly, judging by the quality of posts from many on here......." See your post 327761 as evidence of such! And there is no need for the multitude of full stops you append to the end of each sentence. One will suffice. Typical remoaner. A hypocrite. | geckotheglorious
05/1/2021 10:31 | What will happen from 2021?The deal on the future relationship between the EU and the UK was announced on 24 December. It says that all EHIC cards issued before the end of 2020 will be valid until their expiry date. After that, the UK will issue a new card. The UK government says the new card will be called the UK Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC), but there are no further details yet on how to obtain it.Like EHIC, the new card will cover chronic or existing illnesses and routine maternity care as well as emergencies. The Brexit agreement says any specialised treatment, such as dialysis or cancer treatment, "must be subject to a prior agreement between the insured person and the unit providing the treatment" to ensure the treatment is available. The government's advice , however, still says you should buy travel insurance with healthcare cover before you go on holiday. | cm44
05/1/2021 10:31 | The EHIC will continue until expiry and is to be replaced, however there is no information as yet on how to apply for the replacement card. From my own perspective I would need the new version as my card expired last month and I'm sure there will be millions in a similar situation. It could of course be argued that it's currently not a major priority given the fact we're in lockdown, however if it's not dealt with soon they'll have a huge influx of applications for the summer (assuming the lockdown is lifted and also assuming the new scheme has been implemented). | ladeside
05/1/2021 10:24 | Ladeside,'re 327774, Gov travel advice is that the EHIC card will continue. Check their website. | cm44

05/1/2021 10:01 | If Trump is doing what he is doing to his own people think what he would be willing to do to the British. This reflects badly on the motives and thinking of the likes of Mogg, Farage & Boris. And you think they are there for you, dear me. | minerve 2
05/1/2021 09:55 | - "I’m backing Mr Trump" - "I would almost certainly vote for Trump if I was American." - “President Trump will be our greatest ally after Brexit" Jacob Rees Mogg | minerve 2
05/1/2021 09:52 | Psycho, if you're referring to Brexit it's not something which keeps me awake at night as I have more pressing matters to deal with, however it does seem lunacy that the ordinary man in the street would request to pay higher prices for less choice plus give themselves much more hassle (and indeed cost once ETIAS kicks in) on their couple of holidays to Spain / Portugal each year. If they're smokers, then they're costing themselves a fortune due to the tobacco restrictions, they'll have more hassle / waiting time at immigration and their Health cover will also be taken away (new system announced but in reality doesn't yet exist). Then we've got those who own 2nd homes abroad, they're really screwed as a 180 day maximum permitted and if they have a dog then that's out the window as well. Of course, they can go down the local pub and trot out buzzwords such as "we've taken back control", "sovereignty" and "in charge of our own destiny" but of course in reality these are just words which mean nothing when all is stripped bare......... | ladeside

05/1/2021 09:46 | That suggest the FED will be in the market semi permanently... I have a feeling many will be waking up with that expression when the realisation of Brexit coupled with a major recession and record unemployment kicks in........ | diku
