bargainbob - I think you'll find its a 'settlement' with Standard Life and not a fine

Fine is nothing compared to the amount of money spent on ppi claims

No surprises from today's figures on UK mortgage approvals and credit data. In line with expectations.

Forex contract maturing tomorrow for a full gain. Markets will need a while now to settle and see what has changed in reality. Continue to reduce equity positions. Holding Lloyds, equity (long) and LLPE.

I think a Corbyn Government will be great, he is so desperate to get out of the EU that he will just break any commitments that exist and walk away.

Then the remainers that thwarted the democratic vote will really have something to moan about.

We all agree that there chaos ahead, unless the EU. throws us a few crumbs.

Today the talk is about the Tories and Brexit Parties to have a pact in the event of a general election.
There was a danger that they would be fighting each other for the same hard Brexit voters (about 7-8m of a total of 46m)

There could be pacts for remain parties also.

The next general election will still have Brexit as a major issue, but the real fear will be a Corbyn government.

I see that the £'s rising today, didn't some say it would fall? Was that wishful thinking by the wets?

Early days so mustn't get ahead of myself.

Nothing Liberal or Democratic about the falsely named Libdems.

Overturning Brexit - Fascistic.
Overturning democratic vote - the very definition of fascism.

It will be interesting.
He has got us all guessing, none of us knows what he will do.

Maybe he will be May in reverse.
She was a remainer who had to pretend to be for Brexit with her red lines.
Boris is a Bexiteers who could go soft.

They say he is smart.
Yet he talks as though everyone is still demanding Brexit.
He must know that is almost certainly not true.

Newbank,

A proper democrat.
Even when the vote goes against you.

Quintessentially British.

Too many have lost sight of the likely consequences if democracy is overturned solely to thwart Brexit.

So Alexander Johnson finally made it.
About time the grown ups on this thread called him by his proper name.
He gave himself the nickname Boris because he thought it was more dramatic at school.

Lets us hope he gets down to business and stops talking piffle.
Incidentally, De Piffle is another of his names.

The other 16% didn't know there was a vote going on...or they just didn't like the 2 candidates..."

Much of those would be accounted for by the mislaid / late ballots such that many members did not get the right to vote despite being members, and fulfilling all requirements.

They were mostly "Bojo supporters" from what I saw reported on twitter so Hunt would have lost even more miserably.
