apparently there were 12 storm shadow missiles.

After the senile old fool in the White house gave us permission, plus technical support, to give Zelenski permission he wasted no time in using them.

The main effect was to boost moral amongst his supporters, little significant effect otherwise.
It also makes the uk citizens proud to think they are still a big players on the World stage.

It makes Starmer look Churchillian.

careful is out today arja. He has gone to Coventry to explain to Jaguar's chief creative officer why his new advertising campaign is so brilliant (and how he could have improved it) and why it is going to see its new models fly off the production line. Whilst he is there he should tell them that the tart with the hammer and the logo 'breaking the mould' is a straight rip off of Apples '1984' advert.

H1, just for you...

Please be aware, £/$ exchange rate when selling funds denominated in $$'s...equally it can be a win/win if the $ continues to strengthen against the £, which given the loony budget by Theives is almost certain.

jordaggy, out of interest, what money market ETF's have you bought?

H1, I've sold all my individual shares in UK companies. I still hold etf's which invest in the US S&P, oil production and Tech. It was a sad day when I sold Lloyds, at a loss! but if I include the dividends, I made a good profit, albeit over a 10 year period. The yield isn't worth the risk when one considers the safety in money market etf's and with inflation edging higher again, it's a good hedge. There's too many possible black swan events on the horizon - Putins response to the idiots at NATO/UK firing missiles into Russia for one!

Cruise missiles are too slow.
And they are not cheap.
Up to £7bn of aid up to now for Ukraine from UK

Corruption aside, and the promises Zelenski may make to those supporting the war can never be known, these weapons are of no real significance with conventional warheads.

What is interesting is how obsolete aircraft carriers and expensive surface warships have become, even strike aircraft.
So easy to sink with dozens of cheap as chips drones or unmanned surface vessels.

The Surface to air missiles that shoot down drones are many times more expensive than the drones themselves.
Even the nuclear deterrent does not work anymore, Putin is not taken seriously when he threatens to flatten Kiev with nukes.

I must be the only scared person left.

jordaggy....."I'm with Buffet, I just can't see where to buy and like Buffet, I'm only invested in money markets until such a time we see a turn around. I've been in and out of LGEN and Aviva a few times and made modest profits, but for now I'm staying in cash/money ETF's.

That contradicts what you said on 30th October?......."Lloyds have been beset by dreadful events, namely PPI, Brexit and Covid, this latest 'mishap' will damage but will prove inconsequential over time. As long as the divi remains solid, I'm happy to hold. It's always nice to be in capitol profit, but this was always a forever investment for me which I'll be leaving to loved ones."

And your comment that the US blew up the Nordstream pipeline.....utter balderdash!

On and on it goes
Tax revenues have varied beyond expectations in all directions and are now chaotic and unpredictable thanks to a failure to communicate her true intentions. Either our Chancellor is completely out of her depth – and knows not which way to turn – or she does know what she is doing, and stubbornly carries on regardless of the damage she is wreaking.
Being incompetent or dogmatically ideological, or possibly both, Reeves is on course to ruin the country and cost Labour its future democratic legitimacy.

Nothing they are doing makes any sense - including the words.
John Healey made the remarks while speaking in the Commons earlier, adding that “Ukraine’;s action on the battlefield speaks for itself”.

He tells MPs he spoke to his Ukrainian counterpart yesterday, saying the pair discussed Ukraine’s “robust response” to recent escalation by Russia and the UK's plan to “support them throughout 2025”.

“At this point I’m not able to get into any further operational details," Healey says.
