Wiltord to replace Heskey!! Bloody Obvious if you think about it.

Liverpool will pay us at least 6 million for Wiltord.

Yes I know he's on a free, but Im sure if we get an agent to tell him Wiltord is worth 6 mil ......................

It's interesting that Gerrard, our obvious jewel, has said that if GH gets sacked he'll consider leaving.

I would like to know from the GH knockers why Gerrard would feel so strongly about his manager when he knows he could play for any team and manager in the world?

Also, are you happy to see GH go and Gerrard leave?

As to United, they have individuals but they don't really have a team. They never will until they find a leader.

If Ronaldo keeps improving and starts to show more than just few tricks in non threatening areas, if Van Mist stops sulking, if Saha decides he can play when he's got a sniffle, if Neville gets replaced, if the journeymen midfielders progress, if they find an on field leader, a goallie who isn't on the edge of a nervous breakdown, if Rio stops stuffing it up his nose, if they can find a replacement for the ageing Giggs then United might avoid relegation.

That's a lot of ifs though?

Don't be so sure, abix. Heskey could do a decent job at the right club a bit lower down the table, I reckon. He's not skillful enough for the best clubs though.

I actually think Utd are stronger now than they were last year when they won the title. For the first time in years they have two genuine top class strikers. Saha has been impressive. Ronaldo was expensive but has had a decent first season and is clearly learning fast. Fletcher came on massively (couldn't understand what the hell Ferguson was doing playing him for a fair while...I can see now though). Wes Brown is finally back fit and playing regularly. He has a lot to catch up on but is still a very promising player. The championship challenge was only really derailed when Ferdinand was suspended, which I think shows just how good he is...up until that point the Utd defence was solid. The main disappointments for me were the rest of the summer signings, particularly Kleberson who was impressive at the world cup, who have not shown the necessary quality and as a result Utd still have exactly the same problem of lack of coverage in midfield and particularly defence that they had at the start of this year. It only takes 2 or 3 decent utility players to rectify this though.

'Pool's main advantage is Gerrard. Provided they hang on to him (doubt he'd leave personally, even if a bid was accepted) and he stays injury free, they can get away with being slightly below par in other areas of the team. Utd need good utility players, 'Pool need 2 or 3 very good certain starters. That's a tough thing to get in one transfer window and would probably cost 20-30M but it could be done.

lol! Stu.

It's a great pity that Fungus doesn't admire Heskey in the same way he does Gerrard.

Imagine the satisfaction of selling Heskey to United?
