25/4/2008 22:39 | Bub,ist para...so? 2nd para...now you have got me worried...Try an advanced search on Google for Maitland Investments Ltd,see what you can find...would you give them any money. | sg31
25/4/2008 22:05 | AFXU 29 Sep 2006 07:30...remember this! Libra CEO lifts stake to 6.69 pct LONDON (AFX) - Green fuel investment company Libra Natural Resources PLC said its chief executive Peter Greensmith bought about 8.24 mln company shares at 9.25 pence each, lifting his stake to 6.69 pct or 10.75 mln shares. incidentally the maitland investments that sold some lnr to ent as part of a bundle of assets in exchange for relatively illiquid paper is one of the largest shareholders in lnr and is by far the largest shareholder in ent. | bubface
25/4/2008 21:11 | Barryrog,2935.Sorry my mistake i paid just over 11p in October 2005.I am a longterm holder,I liked the idea behind LNR when it was originally set up but their choice of investments was poor and i now suspect a lot of them were either ways of funding pet projects or a means of getting investors to take rubbish off their hands.I must say i didn't think that until i saw what they are doing with Ethanol,it seems too much like the same thing.Still i am not an investor in Ethanol so i suppose i should mind my own business. What it has brought to mind is a reconsideration of my investment in LNR,Do i trust Greensmith,on balance probably not,but he is in theory no longer in charge. He is as we are all aware the power behind the throne,he really calls the shots. I do believe in the wood pellet business,i think the concept of taking waste wood and producing fuel for sale is good,i have no view on the environmental aspects but the idea of making money from waste has to be good. The lack of info from the company worries me,we have been promised a lot and not much seems to have been delivered so far.The company is said to have rejected offers at 14p,i would like to have been consulted about that. I think my view at present must be a balance,i am losing trust in Greensmith but i like the idea behind the company,i think the company takes shareholders for granted.I am not prepared to sell at the current price so will hold and hope things improve,i will give them a little more time to see if they can deliver Barryrog, you have a substantial holding and i can understand your defence of Greensmith but i do detect a note of frustration with the past investments and corporate gyrations, like you i hope the focus on wood pellets pays off. Wirral & bubface,Cool it guys, you can both have different views but the name calling won't change the stance of either of you. Sorry, for the long post i really am a long term holder, this is not an attempt to de ramp but i do have doubts and questions that are genuine. | sg31
25/4/2008 19:03 | lol!! you're funny | bubface
25/4/2008 15:22 | wirralfinance,it is all totally approved by the nomads of both companies and the aim team, there is nothing untoward, this is a straight forward refocusing of lnr and at the same time creating ent as the new vehicle for holding a diversified porfolio of mostly clean/green assets. if i held shares where i did not trust the management to the extent of having some personal vendetta like you i would do the thing you have obviously got the option of doing. sell.that might stop you making stupid insinuations and you could have a happier life sitting there on the grassy knowl. | bubface
25/4/2008 14:55 | all transactions will take place on 19th May as far as i can recall. i think it unlikely that Greensmith would be selling part of his holding to ENT otherwise i would have thought that the RNS would have said they were acquiring their LNR shares them from him. | barryrog
25/4/2008 08:06 | sg31, if you bought at 10p then i presume you have been a holder for about 6 months. LNR is no different from the vast majority of small caps/micro caps whose shares have plummeted during this period of time. this is market sentiment, not performance a lot of these cos. are trading at low single digit p/e's. a lot on here criticise Greensmith but as Bubface said, the guy invests a lot of his own money - his holding in LNR is in the region of 11 mill shares and his last buys were at 12.75p.. its easy to use him as a scapegoat but i own more shares than the other Directors and quite honestly, even in the current climate, if they showed the same commitment as him, that might be reflected in an improved share price. yes they have made a lot of mistakes in the past but i for one believe that the total focus on wood pellet production and growth is exactly right in todays environment and climate and i am gonna give them a chance to see if this proves to be the case. | barryrog
25/4/2008 07:50 | ...That's because Ethanol IS what LNR started as. LNR has now moved on from an investment co. to a wood pellet production company. | someuwin
25/4/2008 07:47 | What is being built here,as a long term holder all i can see is value distruction.I bought at 10p,they went higher, now 6p.Yet you accuse me of worrying about every .25p move. This whole set up seems incestuous to me.Read the prospectus for LNR,then read the Ethenol RNS.....SNAP. | sg31
24/4/2008 23:08 | As i posted earlier i have been trying to find out what is going on,the investigate note shows that some of the new investments are from Benjamin Goldsmith and his associates (cleantech,CNC,Waipu The libra aquisition is Greensmith (prometheus,Coal international,Haloso Others,The Maitland Aquisition (ACTA,LBC,LNR,HIP,G Broadband)are being acquired from Maitland Investments Ltd a co who are on several registers as a dodgy timeshare company. The Ethanol BB in iii shows a lot of dissatisfaction with the co and a feeling that the co is run for the benefit of a select group of friends of Greensmith. All of this is readily available but with the various corporate actions i do get the feeling that Ethanol is a dumping ground for the dross these people have accumulated. I do not know where this leaves LNR but i wouldn't invest in Ethenol. | sg31
24/4/2008 22:17 | I'd like to know whose 3,000,000 they are buying. It better not be Greensmith's. | biggerbil
24/4/2008 15:54 | asparks, see what you mean think they probably used the same web designer called aimsites but aspen page is though but there is no connection i am aware of. barryrog, maybe they are valuing the shares where they should be not where this distressed market has them!? | bubface
24/4/2008 15:45 | wirral, i've now read and digested the RNS released this morning re ENT (about to become Evergreen Securities). they have taken over the non wood pellet assets of LNR for a consideration of £2.685 mill which although above current valuation means very little as the settlement will be made to LNR in Evergreen Securities new shares. what i can't explain is why they are buying a further 3,000,000 LNR shares for £330,000 i.e 11p per share. | barryrog
24/4/2008 14:34 | Dvsfm, depends what you classify as a link,is Greensmith involved in Aspen,is he a director, exec or otherwise? Was he an early stage investor.I have not delved yet but i wouldn't be too suprised. | sg31
24/4/2008 14:23 | bub - why does aspen & lnr share the same website? | asparks
24/4/2008 14:07 | asparks, what do you think was going to happen? | dvsfm |
