'NO ONE BREATHE'!

Are you suddenly concerned about global warming?

I think methane as a side effect is a bigger problem.

I will continue to exhale but neither I nor anyone else is buying.

Be good

JJ - supposedly a move from Tech to cyclical stocks following Trump’s win / drop in unemployment claims suggesting the market is stronger than expected.

I can tread water for 2 weeks

After all this and its compatriots have been doing much the same thing for the last few weeks.

Still think in light of the continued upsurge in the uncertainty else where in Europe and elsewhere the sidelines are the best place to be..

Its boring but there you go.

Any one know the reason for the Dow to take off last night in NY ?

Good weekend to all

Enough already. Please. This is the LGEN board. Let's keep it reasonably on-topic.

Don't want to ban folk from the thread but enough about missiles, bunkers, etc, etc.

Thanks one and all

We dont have any underground nuclear bunkers for the masses though. Just the Political class and other key personnel.

Whereas Russia's has shed loads of underground bunkers -and Moscow tube doubles as a city bunker.

What’s ICBM - the new international monetary policy?
Sorry but lots of you mentioned it but I’ve never heard of it

Well the markets and LGEN don't seem to be fazed by the alleged ICBM , which if it was didn't do much damage for what it was supposed to be.

We also have ICBMs so his threat is pointless, because if he did attack NATO with one then all hell does break loose

I'm down about 4% in LGEN, PHNX, MNG but since dividend is about 9-10% I'm about 5% up - so about keeping up with inflation.....

With ABDN I'm down about 9% so flat taking into account dividend but down if take into account inflation....

Whereas my more "wild" ideas of Pearson etc are about 40% up so not sure playing it super safe is working for me - currently...

The reference to ICBM is significant. These are missiles that travel more than 5,500km. It would be a waste to use one against a close target.

If indeed it was an ICBM the significance lies in the potential threat to Ukraine supporters many miles distant from the frontline.

I can only guess, having no connection with anybody in Russia, that the populace may have been told the "Russian Military has today responded against imperial aggressors with an intercontinental ballistic missile".

Putin has made repeated threats and none have been carried through. At some point he needs to convince his detractors within Russia that he's prepared to up the ante.

I am of the same view as @jordaggy above. I can’t understand why markets are at current levels while nato missiles are attacking Russia.

Far too much risk-on at present.

It is my belief that liquidity is of paramount importance hence I will continue to advocate caution especially in light of the continued uncertainty now in place due to Putin and Trump.

For all the bombast and rhetoric spouted here and elsewhere I haven't changed my view

The markets are paralysed by fear as am I

Take care keep liquidity

Considering inflation is way lower than what it was, I’d guess the gov borrowing is having more effect on these income stocks. Seems daft for BOE to keep interest rate up, when rampant spending is not what caused the inflation.
