Caution seems justified as news reports today are that sun Edison has replaced the senior board members and some non execs of terraform power. Mark Lerdal has resigned.
Terraform stock has fallen dramatically since the announcement of the invenergy acquisition and the subsequent Vivint acquisition.
Sun Edison have put in new senior management with the intention of placing less emphasis on third party acquisitions.

Will terraform now be seeking to terminate the acquisitions.

vfleetsons,

On what basis do you think they will fly?

I'm pretty cautious.

If I were you I wouldn't use your email address (if it actually is) as your username, for reasons of general security. Also, IMO there are some ropey people on ADVFN.

TerraForm Power results out after the close last night. The analyst presentation pack confirms that everything is on track with Invenergy Wind, with regulatory and lender consents to be completed by the end of this month, and completion by the end of December.

Looking at the LEAF price, there is a degree of scepticism that it will happen.

Really odd trading patterns in this one. A series of purchases is often countered by a series of sales!

Be happy if it stayed that way, and would even let your boys be champions.

Odd trading going on. A run of 10k sales at 35.1, followed by a run of 10k purchases at 37.2.

Easy meat for the MM's.

ff,

The Call/Put option isn't as simple as I was first led to believe. I was initially told that there was a base price, and that they could either "put" the shares to the company, or try and pass the shares on to a higher bidder.

It is clear now that there is no "floor" price, and that the strike price for the option needs to be agreed between the two parties (Invenergy and LEAF). If no agreement can be made, a 3rd part valuer will set a price, but this is non-binding on either side. You might find a situation where they go through a number of cycles in getting valuations, until such time they can agree on a price. This could end up being a time-consuming event.

In an ideal world, the TerraForm Power deal with Invenergy will go through, which would give a see-through value for Invenergy, but there must be some doubt that this deal will be consummated.

It should be noted that Mark Lerdal is also a director of TerraForm Power!

SpectoAcc, tiltonboy, It would help me to understand your caution on this one, as i am often guilty of being a little optimistic.

With a put option for the invenergy stake in place that should yield a 53p return at the end of the year and the share price at 38p, why the caution. I understand that book value and the buyers view of fair value may not tally, but book value was recently amended and is based on similar transactions.

38p turning into 53p within 6 months looks good to me.

Recent sellers would seem to share a cautious view so I presume I am missing something here, I need to remove my rose tinted glasses, what concerns you here.

Thanks @tilts - exactly what happened to me on LEAF a number of years ago! FWIW they look a better co now than they have done for much of that time - though I'm certainly not buying back in.

It was a return of capital, so you will have 91.78% of your holding. Always likely to be a few sellers post the redemption, which has knocked the price back a little.

Just need some good news on the Invenergy front, but I'm not holding my breath.

I think this could turn into a longer-term investment than I hoped just a few weeks ago.

Only a small interest in these now, but did they consolidate on the capital return? Seem to have even fewer shares than I thought I had. (In which case - price shouldn't have dropped?).
