Are you going to take it?

There better not be a PW. They threw everything at the last one. Don’t forget they have claimed all other projects successful and recovered lots of money from their Vendor problem on some rig and still manage to burn all that upside and lose 100M. Are we at peak POO?

My trading history is dire... Decided to let another 32k go this afternoon. If the past is anything to go by this lot should be issuing another pw shortly. Best of luck tt

Miracles can happen and I guess many of us still in this are waiting for it.I was ready to ditch in the 60p's but glad I've held out thanks to POO.I would love POO even more if it can help return this LAM donkey back to 150p.I'll continue praying.

I bought in just over 4 years ago. Back then, everything they said made good sense – back to basics, etc. The profits and good performance were consistent.

I don’t take anything out of the price changes – Why?
1. They have no work – nothing won in nearly 2 years (since the new CEO arrived – “The Sales Guy”)
2. They are only worth their balance sheet and they are eating into that at $100M a year
3. They are not a real valuable take over target! There are many yards in the UAE, Qatar and Oman. There is huge capacity in fabrication – why buy this shell?

4. The Board but especially the CEO & the Chairman are not adding value. Between them, they were paid nearly $2M on a $100M loss. It is not good!
5. Saudi – Haha! Over $100M investment, 20% of any profit. 20-year return on investments? In real terms, Saudi must do $10B at 5% net profit for them to break even. How many years will it take them to accumulate $10B revenue. How much will they do in the next 3 years while building the place? Are we guaranteed profits? It is not charity.
6. They are not truthful
• Master Marine Announcement - “We look forward to more business with Master Marine”. Master Marine have 1 rig going on location for a few years yet the LEL CEO writes it like it’s an ongoing opportunity to do lots more work with them

7. They have no work and has a management team that are overpaid and unsuccessful

Do your own research but price changes are on low volumes and recent oil price positivity

They are only worth their balance sheet and this has changed how much in 12 months?

Nothing concrete . Only guesses.

? The "buyer" we all reckoned was there has stopped for a while. Perhaps to give the tree a little shake.
? There was a hoped for contract that didn't land.
? The price has gotten high enough before a bid is mounted at (say) 120p. I wish.

AGM is 2 weeks away. Maybe they'll have something to say then.

I agree with you there. Most likely reason is the oil price/outlook. But a buyout is always possible.
Separately I note that JPM AM reduced their short last week by 500k shares. Maybe the oil price is spooking them a bit.

I think the improvement is more to do with the price of oil heading to $75. Every dollar on oil makes Lam a more attractive investment, as their customers are better able to carry out development works which keeps Lam busy.

This has been moving up very strongly for several weeks now which suggests that something is afoot - either a substantial order or a takeover approach.

Having held these for several years[adding along the way]. I sold a lump yesterday and within minutes I received a call. There is a big buyer in the wings.... should I buy back?

@plunger2

I “figure” the following :

CEO purchase is vain and attempt to save what must be a tenuous position if he had a proper Chairman. He signed and executed these losses - the failures are on his watch.

Liquidated Damages (LDs) will catch up with them. The Operator will want their money back for delay.

They will not have a cent in 18 months - no wins, increase in costs and no control on project execution and no ability to absorb costs of empty yards.

80p is their net worth based on their bank balance. If they lose more (LDs) , pay for the Saudi venture - they have how much left?

Good luck to the short term spike guys, I hope for an immediate sale to break even (1.00) cause this CEO + Chairman are taking us to nowhere.

You might "figure" that there's an order or two about to land.
You might "figure" that the East Anglia project ain't going to do further harm.
You might "figure" that you'll become an approved contractor for S. Aramco
You might "figure" that the IMI project could leave you as a most attractive target.

Or you might reckon the sky will fall in again and again and.......

Someone has just bought 27,500 shares at 83.2p. What’s going on? With so many other good opportunities in the stock market, why would you choose LAM - unless you known something!

EDIT: perhaps they’re just following the CEO who bought 200,000 yesterday. Obviously he’s ‘in the know’.

Well given the number of changes made to the team by CMcD you have to hope that this time there won't be fresh screw ups. And it's fitting that he should throw a few shillings into the pot.
Also NG hasn't been put on the board by the Lamprell family to scratch his proverbials. Success has never been easy in this business sector but this company has failed particularly badly previously. I feel that failure is well reflected in the share price so there is good scope for a recovery IF IF IF they can get it right.

In short hopeful but not confident.
