01/3/2018 07:34 | Great result all round. Went long on these a couple of days ago as they looked far too neglected, appears someone else thought the same. | bahiflyer
01/3/2018 07:15 | 'and a re-rate to boot'.. Well done vh1. Now that is what I call a 're-rate'! | gersemi
28/2/2018 09:59 | Expecting a good result tomorrow, looking forward to confirmation of the business in recovery mode with the top end of expectations met as per Q3 update...and a re-rate to boot. All imo. | valuehunter1
26/2/2018 12:09 | Roger - unlike IQE there are no short positions over 0.5%, and have not been any since Oct 2017. The only problem seems to be that the regular investors are doing the job for them !!!! Maybe that will change after Thursday. | borromini1
26/2/2018 10:06 | How close will they get to £1 billion revenue? Looking for considerable net debt reduction to offset impact of future interest rate rises. Should get confirmation that expected cost savings have been fully delivered for 2017. Want to see incremental operating margin increases across all three divisions. Years earnings should get the P/E figure reestablished on a sound optimistic footing. | borromini1
26/2/2018 09:46 | From Laird website: MIKE BELL Chief Technology Officer Appointed to the Executive Committee: February 2018 Mike joined Laird in February 2018 in the newly-created role of Chief Technology Officer. He is responsible for charting all aspects of Laird’s technology agenda to help deliver world class innovation and the development of new products and processes across all Laird divisions. He has over 20 years of experience of business transformation, product and technology leadership in the automotive and utilities sectors. Most recently he was Executive Vice President, Devices & IoT at Canonical Ltd, the computer software company. Prior to this he held senior technology roles with Jaguar Land Rover and United Utilities Group plc. | borromini1
26/2/2018 00:55 | Laird growth is highest in connected vehicles, but margin rates have been low supposedly while r&d spend persists. Thursday this week should be very interesting. Expecting 25p to 40p rise in sp, maybe more. | borromini1
21/2/2018 14:47 | Hopefully LRD will mention the tax benefits to be gained in 2018 and forward years on 1 March - should give another boost to analyst forecasts and help to offset minor currency headwinds. Regardless, remember that prior to Brexit vote, GBP:USD was c1.5 so we are still significantly below that level. | valuehunter1
21/2/2018 14:32 | Furthermore peers have been forecasting a 5-6% benefit from tax changes in the US, and LRD should also get boost as a 5G play, a sector I believe is set to take off towards the end of 2018. No doubt CEO's of peers will be planning for this and possibly see LRD as a cheap way to improve their position in this market if they strike now. IQE has aptly shown how being ahead of the curve can bring handsome rewards by grabbing 80% of the rapid growth VCSEL wafer market. | rogerrail
21/2/2018 14:16 | 82 days ago the chart indicated a fall to 120. One would have expected support at around this level. It is increasingly a matter for concern to see the price continuing to weaken. | churchtower
21/2/2018 11:02 | I do agree ugandalad as I think Laird has a bright future but I happen to think on the same lines as value that Laird is being set up for a takeover. I can understand a small drop in the share price due to the exchange rate but this has been over done. | 124asd
21/2/2018 10:47 | Yep but unfortunately I think this is being set up for a t/o, the IOT market is hot and Laird are well positioned, I think the business would perform even better with a stronger mgmnt team behind them and a bit more capex thrown in from a major. The US companies as well as the Chinese may be taking a look at these closely. | valuehunter1
21/2/2018 10:37 | A takeover would be a disappointing solution. I'm looking for a turnaround here not a one off short term boost to price. | ugandalad
21/2/2018 10:27 | If the market doesn't see value soon it will be taken over by another company. My money would be on Samsung as they are interested in increasing their exposure to IOT and the connected car hence the purchase of Harman International. Samsung's $44b capital expenditure dwarfed all public companies last year. Picking Laird up for £1b would be peanuts for them. | 124asd
21/2/2018 10:06 | yep agree, but the fact that they haven't suggests to me that business is as usual, no profit warning neither materially ahead of expectations, so expecting an in line performance being reported on 1 March. If that's the case then we should re-rate back to 140p at least. | valuehunter1
21/2/2018 09:59 | wouldn't be this low if they'd put a t/s out in Jan as last year hope the Directors are sorting their spare change out to pile in next week once results are out | wynmck
21/2/2018 09:26 | This looks oversold to me. Q1-Q3 was ahead of market expectations so turn around looks to be on and can't see any reason why the momentum did not carry on in Q4. Also, v good write up in Shares Mag - tipping them twice in Dec 17 and again in Feb 18 pointing out the turnaround story here. | valuehunter1
20/2/2018 11:43 | Could be right but I doubt it. Laird has been oversold recently primarily to do with the £ to $ exchange rate. | 124asd
20/2/2018 10:59 | You could be right | deuchar
18/2/2018 22:09 | have a feeling will warn and halve again | opodio
17/2/2018 12:14 | I am having bought in recently. Been on my watchlist since Techinvest New Year tip. | aishah
17/2/2018 11:32 | No one seems interested in this company! | meijiman
15/2/2018 13:09 | CTO appointed today. Shore Capital reiterate Buy. Main Shares mag tip last week. | wynmck
09/2/2018 08:52 | Lets look at the calculations for 2017 ... Profit x no. of years - Net Debt all divided by Number of Shares to give a Share Price. Lets be pessimistic ... Let's say a low P/E ratio of 13 and no net debt reduction and profit below analyst forecast at 60m. 60m profit x 13yrs - 175m / 488m = 1.24 GBP Where are we now, oh dear it's 116p, stroll on 1 March. | borromini1 |
