There was a very good piece on Laird in yesterday's Times but it's behind a paywall, it singles out the canary in the coal mine analyst at Berendsen? whose sell note last month pointed out what was going to happen. Worth reading if you're a subscriber

Strange-you are correct re the ceo ability to kitchen sink. I looked at this with a view to buying in after the share price collapse. Bearded one as Chairman is a no and the ceo has huge credibility issues as he has been the FD prior to getting the top job. A shambolic mess by the look of it. The charts suggest it has had issues before and bounced back. The institutions will need to be convinced the right people are in charge. Hopefully a few are looking at the bearded wonder with a view to making changes.

A few years ago this nearly got taken over by Cooper Ind., board fought them off, this time the co will be broken up, this is a big warning, but fundamentally the business has solid end markets, may fall more but it is how management control this situation now and focus on driving down costs, and the debt situation!

This share normally bounces the 10days before it goes xd. Just food for thought. I assume they are still paying the Dec dividend.
