04/5/2001 22:25 | Rossy - thursday would have been about right wouldn't it?Spread to large for me though. | taximania
04/5/2001 20:36 | some v. large delayed trades reported but dealt at 12.12pm at 210p -I reckon buys hence s/price movement today. | ljhc
04/5/2001 13:20 | rossy- ihavnt followed this for ages directrs purchased on the 26th march, volume hasnt really increased, though there seems to be a big seller in the market - if he has sold his stock- good news, could be the reason its moved up today . Note the price reflcts the slow down all companies have talked about, but this is the only stock which hasnt really moved up. based on last y years profits pe of 5.6,and dividend 16p looks good value at £2.18 | bundmar
27/4/2001 11:51 | WHAT ABOUT THE PRICE NOW????? IS IT A GOOD LEVEL TO GET IN AT NOTICING THE DIVIDEND IS OUT NEXT MONTH ALSO?? | rossy
30/3/2001 18:35 | Out with 10% gain. | tomrob
29/3/2001 11:48 | Back up to 220p bid in the last week. Anybody got a feel as to how much more of the fall it will recover ? tom | tomrob
23/3/2001 00:17 | Looking on the bright side of today's 28% fall in price on the back of a fairly messy set of results I think I get a figure of of 17.7p eps from continuing operations which at 197p offer price is a pe of 11 against the new sector's average quoted in this thread above of 17 (though I can't vouch for the veracity of this and, let's face it, sector average pe's must have been dropping like crazy over the last few days - does anyone know where to source these ?). Plus buy today at 197p and get 5% back on the dividend in June. I don't know anything about them other than what I've just read in the results RNS and only looked that up after seeing them in the top fallers list. So please quidquid prudenter agas as the Romans might say when they mean DYOR. Any thoughts people ? Regards, tom | tomrob
08/2/2001 18:15 | Yes it was very interesting today. Strong bounce off the support level. Will definately sleep well tonight! | chrisg
08/2/2001 12:09 | Latest broker research (issued 24th January, ABN AMRO) shows eps for 2000 of 28.2p, rising only slightly to 29.2p for 2001. Doesn't look stunningly attractive on that basis. I think you'll find that the reecnt slide in price has only happened since that review was published, and can be traced back directly to its issue date. Indeed, the shares have fallen every day except one, since then! On the other hand, if you take the one year chart, and draw a trend line through the low point in October which is parallel to the trend line through the peaks, you will find that it has not broken through any support level yet. Although its a close thing(!) and tomorrow will be very interesting. | chrisg
07/2/2001 15:31 | What is happening with Laird - is there some news out there ? This share has lost almost 20% in two to three weeks - so much for a re-rating - downwards !! | alftupper
05/2/2001 21:32 | This chart sucks!! | smithsj1
02/2/2001 13:25 | Get into LARD... | wilsmx
26/1/2001 11:24 | And now the MM's have got in on the act by buying 29,000 shares at the full offer price! Fasten your seatbelts Bundmar! | turbocharge
26/1/2001 11:10 | All astute traders out there please take note that all trades so far today have been buys. As Bundmar says, "laird due a rerating", and yes, the price will soar imho. (by the way Bundmar, does your name have a meaning?) | turbocharge
22/1/2001 08:53 | telegraph tipped it yesterday, its up 2%, i see an afternoon surge, with many ivstors hoping for the price to drop. Note with it being classed as electrical- the stock becomes more marketable - risk and reward relationship is more appealing for this sector than engineering- institutions and fund managers will buy in. dyor | bundmar
17/1/2001 13:12 | Funnily enough, I bought into this a couple of weeks back merely on the basis of it's attractive charting characteristics and positive trading pattern (only 600 shares as a 'punt') so here's hoping ! Regards | fotheringham
17/1/2001 13:04 | just been informed, to get into laird. following information was said to me laird currently classed as engineering with a pe ratio of 11 it has sold all its engineering and has now repositioned itself as electrical, sector average for electrical sector is 17- this excludes companies with very high and low pe ratios, set to be classed as electrical within the next few weeks, - stock will become more tradeable with fund managers and institutions chasing the stock, trades have been very high today, this is a stock which could have more than 50% increase in the year, good long term hold dyor but info definetly looks interesting, just purchased 10000 | bundmar
10/8/2000 16:18 | up a steady 8% today. | nickb
10/8/2000 00:00 | i think investors should spend a bit of time taking a look at this old company that is trying to turn itself in to a high tech player. take a look at the funnymentals and the graph, an interesting situation and worth a look i feel. | nickb
