“The tooth fairy pays for capital expenditures?”

Warren Buffett is credited with having said, “Does management think the tooth fairy pays for capital expenditures?”

EBITDA is used to analyze and compare the profitability between different companies in the same industry as it eliminates financing effects and accounting decisions. Many times, a company changes the items included in their EBITDA metric calculation from one reporting period to the next. Because of this, Warren Buffett does not think that it is a true representation of the company’s performance financially.

Warren Buffett shares some of his thoughts on EBITDA:

“It amazes me how widespread the use of EBITDA has become. People try to dress up financial statements with it.”

“We won’t buy into companies where someone’s talking about EBITDA. If you look at all companies, and split them into companies that use EBITDA as a metric and those that don’t, I suspect you’ll find a lot more fraud in the former group. Look at companies like Wal-Mart, GE and Microsoft — they’ll never use EBITDA in their annual report.”

Cthompso, good to get some bread and butter projects to stay afloat whilst awaiting expected biggies from the US. (Or wherever!) DARPA has been feeding a little too, but no company maker yet.

Wrong IT IS ALL JUST ABOUT THE SECURITY PRODUCTS.


It is all about the much promised yet never delivered vast security supply contracts.

It is NOT about new product under development which will take years and a pathetic £450k per yr for 3 yrs grant.(more than that will be spent on development.)

It is ALL about the radiation detector orders which DONT EXIST nothing else matters here the medical sideline barely keeps the lights on.

However annoying Chimmers may have become, he does have a point.

9 months ago we were seeing prices above 35p

Six months ago Chimmers was suggesting we should get out at 32p while we had the chance.

Now the price is 22p.

Is Chimmers singlehandedly driving the price down by his comments - or is he genuinely reflecting poor sales growth at the company.

I shall hold till this summers results but if nothing improves at that point I will pull out.

It is my "personal" opinion that this company is run and operated by fraudsters liars scammers cheats and complete incompetents.

Between 2013 and 2017 revenue from Asia has risen from £1.16M/yr to £3.28m/yr, a compound annual growth of 29.5%.

Given that the China contract was only signed in H2-2014 recent sales into Asia give cause for optimism; 2013 to 2017 revenues: 1.16, 1.09, 1.90, 1.94 and 3.28 £M/yr. Notice the uptick in 2015.

Chimers provides amusing commentary and saves one having to lose money in this rubbish at the same time. I read his posts for the larfs and filter everyone else for the tedious money losing angst that they spout. ;-)
