I’d think with covid rates in Europe going up rapidly that any of the governments Kromek were in “serious discussions with” would be keen to get their hands on the detectors right now. What’s going on here?

Seems like a never ending slide in the SP! Great time for the board to stock up and get some shares on the cheap, before the bright future they talk of is fully unleashed!?!?

A sold value of £85,000 of kmk shares and a bought value of just over £200. The share price was down all day and then finishes .3p up (2.04%). Is this the bottom of a new lows trend line started in January 21? Or is this just hope? Or MMs shenanigans?

Headline in the FT today is “U.K. economic growth beats expectations, driven by health and construction”. Should put the wind in Kromeks sails for the key medical CZT products

Kromek were criticised for “ not taken adequate measures to stop it from spreading”. To stop it spreading you’ve got to have some data. From what was said at the AGM from memory was that the detector was currently being optimised for various different client locations... it’s been in schools and hospitals from what I understand - both not wide open spaces.

Well that's the main trialling customer I was led to believe! In various NHS hospitals & areas within. Tell the CEO!!!

Get ready for a further fall unfortunately; share price very weak. One can buy 100k at 14.60p near the bid. With no updates on whether interest, trials of the covid detector will materialise into serious sales, after all these months; the uncertainty is looking like the reason for the poor share price, plus some suggesting a possibility of a further cash call. I doubt the latter, but back in July I posted here, my concerns on whether they'd be enough intereest & sizeae volume of sales needed; especially considering we'd see one suspects a lot fewer covid cases emerging by next Spring when I suspect they'd be finally sold & set up. The bio-terrisom threats, technology & health scanners they have, is their best bet in sales I'd rather think now. And should put a decent floor under the share price

Today’s headline in the Telegraph... More than 11,000 people have caught Covid and died after being admitted to NHS hospitals for other ailments, The Telegraph can disclose. The disclosures reveal that 11,688 people who died in hospital after testing positive for Covid likely caught the virus there – accounting for one in eight Covid deaths in hospital. On Monday night, MPs condemned the figures as a “scandal”;. The revelations will raise concerns that hospitals have become a breeding ground for the virus and that the NHS has not taken adequate measures to stop it from spreading. ...Kromeks technology is ideally placed to deal with today’s headline in the Telegraph

“Kromek is only one of two U.K. companies offering this type of radiation technology. The company should therefore be a clear beneficiary of the government’s £329m five year nuclear detection budget”

A few interesting snippets from this rather long article... “the temporary impact of Covid on healthcare stocks is a great buying opportunity, Kromek has enormous rebound potential as hospitals get back to their routine business.” “...don’t think the market has factored in the size of the rebound in the core business nor the size of the potential commercial opportunity of Kromek’s new technology in a world forever changed by Covid to taking risks of pathogens extremely seriously. I feel there is every likelihood we get more positive news on the business in the next few months. The value of the company’s IP is not reflected in the price nor is the sheer profit growth opportunity given that the business is now firing on all cylinders and the shares - on < 4x EV/EBITDA for a business with truly groundbreaking technology and a large addressable market - are an extremely attractive prospect.” “routine hospital activity (scans, operations etc, where Kromek has a significant presence) were amongst the worst hit activities due to Covid as all available resources were diverted to fighting the pandemic. There is now a huge backlog of orders for companies involved in providing routine healthcare products and services.” “ the business is forecast to move from last year’s Covid-19 impacted cash loss of £1.7m to a small adjusted cash profit (according to estimates by house broker Cenkos and Equity development). In fact, Cenkos estimates that every £1m of additional revenue could generate £0.5m of incremental cash profit for the company.”

I suspect the device is gathering orders and an announcement will be made when sufficient orders are contracted. All revenue generated is not included in this or next year’s forecasts. It would be fairly ridiculous if the machine doesn’t work given it’s been displayed at trade shows and was the basis of the last fundraising. A lot of patents have been granted to Kromek in the last year. In the words of Simon Thompson who clearly has a direct line to the ceo ‘expect commercialisation later this year’. I can see an announcement of sales before the end of this year. As I’ve said before I can see Kromek ending the year anywhere between 5-50p. Quite a ridiculous range, but that’s due to quite a ridiculously low idea of what’s really going on at Kromek. Nobody really trusts or knows what’s going on. Simon Thompson with his experience in small cap companies has put a ‘strong buy’ on Kromek. Expect any good news if it comes to be amplified very quickly by ST very quickly. The share price will absolutely rocket like nothing I’ve invested in before if it all works with a good amount of orders secured - as this covid detector is only the precursor to the extraordinarily interesting detector that identifies all known and unknown pathogens. A piece of kit which will be unique and of great interest after the lockdown of huge economies and industries after the last pandemic

The Chemring Bio units contract mentioned at the wend appears to be a laser optical sensor trigger Device that when activated starts collecting air samples for lab analysis. They have other 2x hand held products of similar 'collection' design operation. Kromek's Kapscan is able to read all pathogens, viruses, bacteria, spores etc, which has been said to be on program for testing with DARPA very soon. "Joint Biological Point Detection System" (JBPDS) is a robust bio detection instrument suite that is fully functional in any operational environment the user may encounter. JBPDS provides automatic detection and identification of airborne biological agents at very low levels, triggers local and remote warning systems, and communicates threat information over standard communication systems. The legacy system uses laser-induced fluorescence, the trigger/ detector continuously evaluates the atmospheric background for traces of potential biological agents. When the system detects something of a suspicious nature, the collector/ concentrator is initiated to sample hundreds of liters of air per minute, providing a small amount of liquid containing the collected aerosol sample. The JBPDS Upgrade Kit adds “a more discriminative detector, the Rapid Agent Aerosol Detector (RAAD) developed by MIT. The RAAD uses orthogonal technologies to substantially reduce the number of false detections of the JBPDS.” This sample is then evaluated for specific biological agents using immunoassays with an automated reader assembly. If the assay shows signs of biological agents, an alarm is sounded and a portion of the collected sample is provided for gold- standard laboratory analysis. hTTps://www.chemring.com/what-we-do/sensors-and-information/chemical-and-biological-detection/biological-detection

If you read between the lines it seems like Arnab is giving hard sell to the government who as of yet are not overly interested? Would he really be talking like this to newspapers if deep in negotiations for big government contract? The fact more trials are about to start, this time in hospitals is also new information? Arnab Basu "But having the technology is only half the battle." “The Government has rightly been focussing on problems that exist today. But now is the time to look ahead,” he added. “This Government spent £37bn on test and trace. You could network the entire UK with detection capability for less than £1.5bn. Not only is this groundbreaking technology, it’s incredible value for money. “But the Government must take the lead on this."

The technology to do this is almost with us, and it is being designed by a UK firm. Sedgefield-based Kromek has come a long way since its origins in 2003 as part of the University of Durham, and has already provided 25 countries with radiation detectors. The small firm, which boasts just 170 employees in the UK and US, is working with the US’ Department of Defence on a global pandemic detection system and has already produced a completely autonomous detector which can detect traces of Covid-19 in moments. Next year, a broader system able to detect any pathogen, will be ready for trial. “People look at the weather forecast before deciding what clothes to wear. Data is what will drive us in every aspect of our lives in the future , whether it’s to understand threats or the spread of diseases. This is how we will get our lives back. But data can only be generated by better detection. ” said ceo A Essentially, what we are developing is a capability to sample DNA sequencing and provide data over a whole network to build continuous, hour-by-hour profiles. And once it is running, it will be completely autonomous, with no need for scientific intervention or expertise.“ He added: “We already have KAPScan, a Covid-19 detection system, which collects air samples and, using DNA sequencing, detects the presence of Covid-19. We have piloted this in schools, airports and are about to place them in hospitals, where it will provide various contamination levels in different wards and deliver results every 30 minutes. Next year we will roll out a detector that can broaden out the search to many pathogens. “In this connected world, one of the main routes for cross-contamination is airports and airliners. Having devices inside an aircraft which can alert to unknown threats means action can be taken quickly. And airliners will have the advantage of assuring passengers when there is no issue. “ But having the technology is only half the battle. The Government has rightly been focussing on problems that exist today. But now is the time to look ahead,” he added. “This Government spent £37bn on test and trace. You could network the entire UK with detection capability for less than £1.5bn. Not only is this groundbreaking technology, it’s incredible value for money. “But the Government must take the lead on this.”

4days of falling. Hadn’t heard of this other biological pathogen detector company before, Equity Developments projections for the biological pathogen detector were £500m per annum for the global market with Kromek securing 20%. So not totally unexpected. Would be good to get some details of sales of the detector to see the price spike up. In “serious discussions with multiple governments” was what the ceo said. Hopefully that news will come later this month. Since no sales of the detector are included in this year’s forecast for Kromek it could make a significant improvement to Kromeks figures. Wish I’d sold more though. If Kromek falls much below 15p I can see it going right down to 12p, before the next spike when some positive news is released. I’d feel immensely more comfortable had the directors made some serious purchases instead of £10-15k buys. It’s all feeling a little shaky right now. But things change with the Kromek share price quite quickly and dramatically quite often. Let’s hope this fall has ended
