This Economist podcast is interesting on the COVID airborne threat:
Broadlly says that the virus lingers in the air much longer than thought and not just spread by human breath droplets. So the airborne detector likely to be of much greater continuing use IMHO.

From Sky news today, deadly biological threats increasing.

So what? Don't think KMK are interested anymore. I think the factory has closed down. Dead in the water at the moment. Disgraceful !!!

Thank you, Dave, for passing on this cheery news !
I have just been glancing at Intuitive Investments (IIG)and see that they invested c£250,000 in the new KMK shares at 15p. So optimists here, such as I am, are not the only suckers !

I see that our CEO is speaking at the Cenkos Growth and Innovation Forum next Tuesday.
Just for 15 minutes so no doubt nothing new will emerge and probably no time for questions.

thing is that Kromek have been targeting lots of billion dollar markets for a long, long, long time.

not a great track record of hitting any target, let alone the bull's-eye.

all imo. dyor.

They planned to replace Bio watch, by this year 2021...(existing filter/collect/lab etc) with a new system but it failed when tested.as per comments below.

The required numbers are 9000 units plus for a nation wide system.
It was the primary reason DARPA funded the development by Kromek and it's UK consortium.

"For instance, the tests found that the technology to be relied on by BD21 detected viral material simulating smallpox or other deadly viruses that could be weaponized in just eight of 168 attempts, a success rate of less than 5%.

Yet by early this year McDonnell had spearheaded the deployment of BD21 to a dozen cities and said he expected that it would replace BioWatch, the nation’s existing and long-troubled system for detecting aerosolized biological threats, by 2021."

This is the multi billion dollar market,..Just one off them....that Kromek are targeting.

Dated Yesterday...

Dept of Homeland Security has the cheque book open...if Kromek's detector is as good as expected it stands a very good chance of being used ...as there is currently NO other product out there Smith's, Northrop Grumman, Flir. all considered and regected. As they don't met the requirements.

The U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) on Friday issued risk mitigation steps that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) should consider during its acquisition of a new system to replace BioWatch, the federal government’s current biodetection system for detecting aerosolized biological attacks.

"Currently, due to ongoing pressure from Congress and various administrations, DHS is set to acquire “a system-of-systems concept” known as Biological Detection for the 21st Century (BD21), which is intended to combine various technologies — such as biological sensors, data analytics, anomaly detection tools, collectors, and field screening devices — that aim to enable faster, more efficient detection of an aerosolized attack involving a biological agent compared to BioWatch."

I don’t think a common sense detector would find any common sense in the board room. Haha.

K9?

All that KMK need to do is to invent a Common Sense Detector and then install it in the Board Room. Then we'll be flying!

It will be memories of stories such as this headline in today’s Guardian that will drive Kromeks machine to be in a huge number of healthcare settings in the world...

Airports and other companies around the world will be focused on the biological pathogen detectors ability to not close entire industries down when the next pandemic happens. I am not in the slightest bit concerned about these dogs. Anyone who sells because of this dog story is completely nuts... I can’t believe a bunch of dogs is threatening my investment here.

Share price not looking good. Kromek need to get a company they are trialling their machine with to make a public statement about the trial and potential benefits of Kromeks Pathogen detector - an airport or airline or hospital trust etc. Look at the effect the news of the dog trial has had on the share price and what potential effect a large company could have by saying they are trying Kromeks machine out. Dogs can be used to sniff out cancer - but I don’t think they will be worrying cancer diagnosis companies. This pathogen detector - if it works - will not have sales effected by sniffer dogs. They have enough work on their plate with drugs & explosives... A complete red herring of a story. We all know the board are useless at communication. Just need to hold our nerve and find out if this machine really works or we’ve all been chasing a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow...
