Joe - I'm hoping the same, and that it isn't the dog's dinner that SCE turned out to be. There, people with paper certs got everything they asked for, in some cases 100s of thousands of shares; some others got none (apparently because the broker forgot to ask for their allocations); most, like me, got a tiny fraction of their excess application, no matter how modest the request.

Maurice - I'm hoping they'll favour the lower entitlements - worked with SCE

3x? Paper hands. I asked for 10x :) Even that is only around half the amount I originally invested at 20.5p

Yep, got my corporate notification couple of days ago with Halifax.
Needed to have held the shares by a certain date to have qualified, sorry if that was obvious.

Thanks for the responses. Will check with my trading platform on Monday. Have also been given the name of the brokers when I called up Kromek - didn’t get answer when I phoned today so will try again Monday.

Been notified in 3 accounts with different brokers. All now set up OK so definitely happening. Check for an email in your spam folder, and see what's in their private messaging system.

Hello. First time contributor. Can I ask if anyone has seen a comms in their trading account re the placing? Nothing has popped up in mine. There was something in the kromek announcement about it being dependent on approval at AGM on 1 March so perhaps that needs to happen first. Thanks.

In demand despite the placing (or because the company has got enough cash to really make a difference). Certainly worth rolling with in the near term with virtually no downside below the placing. Of course it is inevitable that those that took part in the placing will haircut whatever shares they manage to obtain but whatever happens the company has a whopping £13 million in the bank and a lot more credibility as a result. Bound to be over subscribed.

Well that's me, in to double up with the old placing...
- Either I get them and enjoy my discounted shares
- Or the placing is fully taken up and there's that 13m worth of confidence
It's win-win, surely!

Waiting for 15/16p might see the price getting away from you.I would love to buy cheaper too,but not pinning my hopes on it.

I have gone for 66k at 15p so H/L will give me my guaranteed allotment which is 66 shares as I sold most recently but they will give me some or all the remainder at 15p as I hold some shares so imo worth the attempt to buy at that price

I will also be back in at around 16p. Same thing happened to ORPH
I will definitely take up my allocation at 15p and try to get more.

I sold my holding near the recent peak and will re-invest when the share price is a lot closer to the Open Offer price (15.0p). I also remember Simon Thompson said the sum of the parts valuation for Kromek was 13.5p and that was before the increase in Equity.

supernumerary - many thanks.

With the hope that we're back off to 23p, but with a bunch of extra discounted shares to boot.

Cheers

doug - you should see a 'Corporate Action' appear on your account in the next day or two; that will define the terms of the offer to you. The OO shares will appear on your account, and you will then have the chance to request some excess shares. For all of these you have to make sure there's cash in your account to pay for them by the date the broker gives you. If not, or if you choose not to take up the offer, it simply lapses and the new shares disappear again.

So, err, should something pop up in my Halifax account?
Or do I sit by the mailbox?
Or do I not qualify?
Any experienced help welcome.

Kromek ramping up Covid-19 pathogen detectors.

Placing and open offer to raise £13m.
Proceeds to de-risk and commercialise bio-security pathogen detectors.

Kromek (KMK:16.75p), a Sedgefield-based radiation detection technology company focused on the medical, security screening and nuclear markets, has announced a placing and open offer to raise £13m at 15p a share.

Up to 25 per cent of the proceeds will be used to de-risk and commercialise Kromek’s bio-security pathogen detectors which sample air and identify the presence of any biological pathogen including Covid-19. They will be piloted in UK airports, hospitals and the retail sector in the coming months ahead of commercial roll-out. In addition, up to 20 per cent of the funds will be used to expand sales and marketing efforts for Kromek’s nuclear detection and medical imaging activities with the balance used to deleverage its balance sheet.

I feel the open offer is worth taking up. That’s because two-thirds of Cenkos Securities’ £15m revenue estimate for the 2021/22 financial year is already covered by the order book, but the house broker’s forecast excludes any contribution from the bio-security pathogen detectors. Bearing this in mind, Cenkos estimates that every £1m of additional revenue could generate £0.5m of incremental cash profit for the company. Analyst Paul Hill at Equity Development values the annual global market for the biological threat detection devices at £500m and believes that the company could win a 20 per cent share, an outcome that is simply not being priced into Kromek’s market capitalisation of £57m.

The shares doubled in price to 28p after my last article ('Covid-19 airborne threat detection profit opportunity', 14 January 2021), and the pull-back on news of the placing is a repeat buying opportunity.
