Dutch Government would be wise not to impose further tax on KIST particularly as they have a 40% take on the fields and 50% corporate tax already. Negotiations might also point to the very low CO2 cost on production. They will not want to make Holland unattractive. They currently enjoy a sort of WFT on their 40% ownership.

Dutch state own 40% of the licenses and FT reporting that EU WFT will only apply to profit above Euro 180 per MWHr but dependant on member states. When will it apply well TTF did not exceed that price until July and think KIST were down for maintenance so retro tax may not be too much of an issue.

Actually feel that's not too bad and pretty fair although no incentive to reinvest like the UK WFT.

Position of the licenses not the country of tax residency that set the tax rates.

Current tax rates are cc 50% net profit plus license royalties plus license rent ignoring the fact that they get a 40% share in the license too.

Let's see.

The buyers are returning after the 'correction' which was unjustified. IMHO.
I also suspect some creative accounting will go on to reduce profits or buying of more
assets in British waters.

No windfall tax on EU producing O&G companies? I think its a dead cert that they will.

The drop is far overdone. I doubt the EU will put a windfall tax on OG companies.
Companies will simply use any potential profits to buy yet more assets for better times.

The energy companies in uk/Europe should just “do a Putin” - turn off the taps as a big F.U. -
I would totally endorse and support that.
Where was any support when they were mostly struggling over the past few years?

Probably, depending on the level of the tax and of any development offsets, it's uncertainty the market doesn't like.

To be fair 59% dutch production and 50% UK now.UK subject to uk tax and WFT.Dutch production has escaped WFT until maybe now.

This will be the problem, an EU windfall tax...

IF the EU have development tax offsets in the same way as in the UK it may not be as bad as may first appear.
