Yes Farmscan you are right and the $40m was capped there so Total were not embarrassed by the gas price on the KIST acquisition. The 40m will have been paid by now. The TTF gas price, which does not affect the Total deal, has gone stratospheric however.

The high gas price is also a bit of a double edged sword though, because it's going to result in an extra $40m being paid on top of the $125m for the GLA isn't it?

"The extra 3,000boepd, lol you've got to laugh. They waited all the way until AA exposed their lack of ambition in order to deliver that."

Those well interventions were announced in January, long before AA made any sort of approach. They've also executed on Columbus and Rhum R3 in the last few months and are currently drilling N Eigg. Not sure where the hate comes from as Serica seem to me to have a good track record operationally. Perhaps AA knows that.

The extra 3,000boepd, lol you've got to laugh. They waited all the way until AA exposed their lack of ambition in order to deliver that. It's better kist go for other targets now. When someone offers you almost half of a company plus a heavy cash premium, you bite their hand off. SQZ holders actually think they can do better under MF. You will learn the hard way. It will be more sitting on cash while inflation erodes it. Cash

Exactly, the recently announced extra 3000 boepd also helps.

Nah. Nothing to do with AA. Simply a realisation of the value on offer and gas price rise.

SQZ shareholders shouldn’t grumble too much, their shares price is up 20% plus over the last few weeks as a direct result of AA.

Alxo post 833 spot on. I wouldn't mind a bet that KIST has more EBITDA in 2022 than SQZ.Yea cash is king when you are insolvent but generates no return when you are a flourishing booming gas business. Beginning to feel we are a little early out of the traps as our paper is too lowly priced. Interims and an EBITDA disclosing statement may re- rate the paper.

I don't know what AA is playing at. Both he and his advisors must have known that Serica would laugh off both of those bids. Serica is too big a morsel and the management egos too swollen to stand a chance of getting away with it.

I wonder if there's another game afoot. Possibly to drive the KIST price sharply higher in order to use more highly rated shares to make another acquisition? They just needed to get the currency revalued first?

Or maybe they've received an approach themselves and have embarked on a defensive strategy to repel boarders!

Sheer speculation on my part! I know nothing.

And Kistos has enjoyed a very nice rerating in the process ... While it has exposed the "dodo" techniques of the SQZ management, a buyback program that is not implemented, and deals that are promised but aren't delivered.

Dude, KIST has now made two not very convincing offers for SQZ. I think we all know who needs who the most. KIST needs SQZ and will need to make a reasonable offer to succeed. Current offer around 420p. Delete the 4, insert a 5 and the talks can begin. IMHO.

I guess a lot of SQZ holders will be shocked by the fact that Kistos could be making MORE MONEY than them. How is it you ask? Well, if the Dutch TTF is double the price, then its current 6,000boed are equivalent to 12,000boed in UK, which adding to the 6,500 boed from GLA, it would make it to 18,500 boed with a much lower opex. Then, you have 20% of SQZ production hedged to 20% the actual market price, which turns the fancy 22,000 boed to 18,480 boed (80% 100% price and 20% 20% price).

It is such a shame nobody among them was able to make such a apples to apples comparison yet, but yes, Kistos is producing more gas than Serica when taking into account the difference in price and hedging. Think twice about this when you talk about Kistos being a scam or a promotional stock.

Nigelpm,That's if your only looking at cash. You also ignore the likelihood that KIST itself will be generating huge amounts of cash and the forthcoming results will demonstrate this.Kistos is about growth. Something the SQZ board cannot deliver without taking exploration risk. AA will just deal his way to the next asset - what was it, 2 a year?Cash

nigelpm, please, inform yourself before making a statement like that. It is quite shameful to see how SQZ holders speak like Kistos wasn't holding a huge cash position today. The TTF has been at more than double the price of NBP for several days after the time Kistos announced it had become net cash. The TTF has been much higher than the NBP for all that period, while Kistos' Dutch field has one of the lowest OPEX in the whole O&G offshore industry.

It makes fantastic sense for kistos but barely any for serica shareholders given the huge net cash position of serica.
