SP increased when Homebase said it would be closing stores. I don’t think it warranted a rise . Given the sector as a whole was doing bad and didn’t see B&Q benefiting either. Market has been negative of the 5 year plan B&Q is a shambles Profits down 10% Cash running out The only silver lining is Screwfix

Mentioned last year listening to one of the conference calls and unimpressed. Performance in France looks pretty dire, where has all that net cash gone?. Buyback should have been suspended imv.

Is anyone a buyer at these levels? Don't think the share is massively over-priced, but the outlook doesn't look strong. Where did all that cash go?!

Agreed last years share buy back I’ll conceived . This years is shear stupidity . Dividend up 10% Share buy back When Annual profits are down 8% . It’s not like the future is rosy , Hence the justified 8% drop in SP

Final results released this morning. Thankfully, not holding any of these. Fall in profit. High cost of transformation. More difficult UK market ahead. £372 Million increase in working capital. Transformation costs increased by £46 million. Last year's share buyback was ill conceived, imo. A long way to go, with Brexit not starting for another 2(?) years. I fear that in a few years events may show they should have held on to the buyback cash. Shares are 310p in the market, down 26p this morning. Commiserations to holders.

Contrarian. Good call on your part . Guess you got 3.55 ish . I sold just over 3.40. I think the company is still strong but changing the direction of a cruise liner without smashing a few plates will take time. I intend keeping an i on them and maybe get back in at lower levels.

KGF have instructed Deutsche Bank to purchase its shares during the period which commences 2/1/18 & ends no later than 31/1/18,max amount no greater than 20m shares (i'me assuming),it forms part of their arrangement to purchase 223m shares. On my reckoning that's 10% of their equity.

That header chart has a nice bowl with a cup & handle at £3,most uk retail operators getting a boost today ,(maybe it's not the end of the world for uk retail after Brexit),will sell if they reach my target of 350/355.

Best of luck with your holding, and agree there are multiple benefits to a buy and hold approach.

Having tried in the UK Screwfix , B&Q and their competitor Wickes . I have to say I was. Impressed with the customer service and locally availability at Screwfix and the prices at Wickes. Not a fan of B&Q. As a holder of KGF I had hoped for a jump in the share price today but wasn’t to be.

HD's margins put KGF to shame. If you look at the respective financial metrics the picture is clear. We have seen some savage sell offs post results in this sector, perhaps KGF will buck the trend?. Main risk I see is to the UK business. Longer term it looks value, just imv.

Home Depot will also have been helped in the last 5 years by Hurricane Irma,Harvey , Mathew and Sandy to the tune of $350 Billion Of damage. I wonder how Brexit will effect Kingfisher given their exposure to France , Poland and the fact that we may be looking at WTO rules exit from EU. Any views?
