I've eased up on my averaging down. My average is now under 360p and I'll gently add below 330p because I feel these shares could bounce hard and fast at some point. I am comforted by Woodford adding to his position especially knowing how short of cash he is. However on the other side you have quite aggressive shorting by people who think this is the next Interserve. I don't think the Kier accounts are anywhere near the dodginess of Carillion, Interserve, Capita etc but even if like Minerve you believe you are right, it can be uncomfortable riding out downward share price volatility.

How much I am down on paper at this point is of no importance to me and neither should it be to you. ;)

Minerve - you must be about 25% down here, at least.

Yes but the difference is you have declared yourself to be long in Kier whereas I don't have any position.

Gray mentioned a 3% margin as being standard for the industry. I suspect it is a standard for Kier but I know it is not the case for their competitors.

Whereas you would be providing it if he was a shorter?

LOL

From here it looks like Gray is seeking confirmation bias and you are providing it.

Gary - you said yesterday "By 2022 when my work plan has reached fruition, I am 100% sure Kier share price will be much higher than today".

You can't be 100% about ANY stock going forward, let alone one as volatile as this.

Also you should ignore all broker forecasts they are a total waste of space and not worth the paper they are written on.

Woodford holding such a big percentage of the company is not a good sign in my opinion.

I don't know what Kier will do in the future but the range will be 0 - 1200 say.

Good luck but Kier is a high risk share in either direction.

ltcm1 - I wanted to buy the Kier stock through a work plan whereby for every 2 shares purchased we get one for free even if the stock stayed static its a no brainier as we make gains.

In addition i have been buying in my ISA as the price as the price has been falling as previously aforementioned.

Upside to come from the points mentioned, Minerve and I are the only 2 that seem to be very bullish on Kier. Can i ask do others actually hold the stock or just a short position?

It is good value and it is obviously my opinion.

Now, this conversation has ended. ;)

Minerve what you said was "Buying at the current share price is good value."

I think most reasonable people would see little difference between that and "buy this stock now".

Do you read what people post? He already HAS been buying Kier stock, he is an employee. I just think it is good value and said so. I didn't say "buy this stock now".

I'm starting to believe you are just a troll.

Kier has a smorgasbord of contracts. It has loads and is well diversified. No contract is significantly big enough to pose significant risk like Carillion.

Things can go bad. I had my own business. We had development contracts. I understand enough to invest here.

If you don't want to invest then don't.

You are now on my potential filter list.

With respect Minerve, I don't think it's wise telling the guy who works for Kier to buy more stock for all those reasons you've outlined above. I dare say this investment is only 2% of your portfolio or something, yet it could be his only share.

You say you are researched up here but unless you have contacts inside Kier you won't be able to cover the construction side of things. These big jobs are very complex and if one thing goes wrong it compounds horribly through the whole project. There can also be grey areas between client and contractor that are difficult to resolve.

And yet only recently you were lambasting people on other boards for making risky investments and you stated that your 'number one priority is to not lose money'! Now you're suddenly saying something quite different and putting more and more £ into one company. Slightly contradictory!
