Acquisition of McNicholas, investments in property, plus an increase in inventories (possibly a good thing in terms of work demand), on the face of it.

Begs the practical question whether brokers linked to the 'retail service provider' system put you at a competitive disadvantage to Direct Market Access (e.g. via IG), trades were underway I estimate about 10 mins before RSP's allowed dealing.

if profits have increased from GBP146m to GBP160m

how come debt has increased from GBP110m to GBP186m?

I suspect it's being manipulated. The 18% that are short need it to fall and then aren't going to given in for the sake of a couple of hundred thousand shares.

Good set of results, I'm happy with that
Shorts will need to unwind so share price should recover quickly imo

Never understood why a shareholder would lend their shares for someone to sell

Nobody mentions the "longs" e.g. STandard Life have 14%, Woodford has 10% and increased recently.
Just Two holdings that dwarf all these little shorters
Hope the figs cause a short squeeze tomorrow, +200 possible in that event.

The bears are back. We may see a sharp sell off late afternoon. Bet the numbers are horrible.

But let's forget about the past. Everything is great looking forward.

The other side of this is that some of the shorts may be hedges

Riding the Galliford wave, that's all.
This ship's on the way to the next port of call, having missed the Carillion cherry picking opportunity, at £7.32

In the last four days Kier has traded up from below 930 to above 1030. I doubt this is just normal stock market fluctuations. The reasons will become clear in due course.

This 18% is potentially not correct. Shorttracker says 10% and did from lst friday

It nly shows shorts over 0.5%

I dont think the shorts have closed, i think its just two different ways of calculating the amount

Zico, The price of a share seeks to reflect not what is but what will be.

The losses have finally taken a toll. You can only carry WIP for so long.

I wonder how much they are carrying on the Liverpool Gateway which was an unmitigated commercial disaster.

They need to announce a share consolidation
That would cause a stir :)
