Reaction to good results obtuse.. I also notice operating profits - (and those are the profits that matter) are best for 12 years.. share price has been hugely higher on much less operating profitability than this. The "it is better to travel than arrive brigade" selling a few I suppose. Best to ignore a day like today. Or even buy a few more.

K's turnover is 60% cost + generating close 4% margin. As HMG moves towards. What is K's margin for fixed priced ' as the Government moves towards more fixed price work? Looks as if the margin is likely to fall?

Stutes HMG are moving away from Fixed Price
It doesn't get them best value. It has taken 20 years for them to understand but that isn't cabinet Office guidance any longer

Almost 5% down now and by far the biggest faller on the FTSE350. Wasnt expecting that kind of reaction after reading the results this morning. They seemed inline with positive tones.

I guess the market wanted a beat which is harsh.

Serica did this ..

Went down on good results day. And then subsequently powered ahead.

This market often needs a day or 2 to process decent results.

And by any measure these were decent results

On the earnings call.

Management seems creditable

Huge opps .. esp re water companies outlined.

First day reaction to results is never the right one .. and does not negate brilliant results announced today.

oh and order book increased 7 % to £10.8 billion.

Excellent results with month end net debt now down to an entirely reasonable level and a good dividend in the bag. This is going up.

Do you want to give us a few names of dividend paying ftse250/100 firms with a p/e of 5 ricky? Regarding Kier, a 6% dividend return PLUS a shareprice that's likely to double are pretty good reasons to invest, but if you've got something better, please share.

Yeah but how much of these earnings does Keir return to shareholders? I can find tens of companies with net earnings of abt. 20% of the current share price each year, but they return a varying proportion of this directly to shareholders. Isn't this the point?
