02/10/2021 19:29 | Kibo's 'valuation' of its Rukwa/Mbeya coal mine assumed major sales to the power station next door - which would have paid to develop it. Without that, its 'mine' is just an idea (and not even a hole) in the ground and of no real value at all. If there is any cash to open it up, it's faced with transporting all the way to an east coast port for the only real thermal coal markets in Asia. Who knows how long prices will hold up for that. The only straw Kibo can grasp is that someone (obviously not the Chinese any more) will miraculously come up with funds to build some sort of coal burning power station and pay Kibo to take the coal off its hands. Happy waiting ! | lurker5
02/10/2021 18:07 | Specific questions with a specific agenda ... whose being churlish | sirianbotham
02/10/2021 11:50 | Well that’s rather churlish I must say, there’s not much information about the 7 mining licences that I can find in the public domain despite “DYOR” which was why I asked here, seems that nobody here knows the answers either, otherwise why not just provide the answers instead of being obtuse . I suppose even if they commissioned construction of the power plant tommorow and somehow financed it ( China are out of the equation of course for this ) as it can take anywhere between 50 and 200 months from start to finish. I wonder where thermal coal prices will be then? And of course if it was for export instead, it’s just the lead time for constructing the mine, plus all the transportation infrastructure that needs to be in place - is there a railway line running to a nearby commercial port so you know? Or is that a secret as well? | frankandbeans
02/10/2021 11:19 | DYOR - all is in the public domain. Mining licences are to mine coal. You can use it whatever you want. Might do bonfires if want. There are also Esia for mine and power plant. MLs are either for 10 or 25 years. Frankandbeans 2 Oct '21 - 10:07 - 6258 of 6258 A power crisis is always good for energy commodities, how long until they can build an operational coal plant? Are the licences specific to supply of a coal power station or can they also be used for export? When do the licences expire? I can’t seem to find this information online. | yaki

02/10/2021 06:22 | Coal prices at $220! Up from $50 a year ago Should bode well for Kibo coal assets! | yaki
01/10/2021 07:40 | I agree consolidation can be a gimmick, but if that pie, using your example, is split but done so in order to break that pie up into even smaller pieces, given the reason for the consolidation would be for further share issuance, then it’s going to result in mass dilution for existing shareholders? | frankandbeans
01/10/2021 07:39 | In the meantime, the sell price is above or at mid. I can sell 5m at 0.225p. And can buy very little at 0.23p | yaki
01/10/2021 07:37 | When do the mining licences for the proposed coal plant expire? | frankandbeans
01/10/2021 07:36 | Consolidation is an accounting gimmick. Doesn't matter whether the pie is split in 10 or 100 parts. The size of the pie is the same Share issuance authority is a different thing. Someone who is so obsessed with this share (and not holding) - I am sure you know the answer? Frankandbeans 1 Oct '21 - 07:38 - 6250 of 6251 Can they even do a “bucket shop” placing at this price? Don’t they need to run a consolidation first? Which was voted down previously? | yaki
01/10/2021 06:40 | I seem to recall someone on LSE a while back pedalling this argument. That it was impossible for someone to hold so much at a low average if they first bought at x pence. It's basic maths and sad that someone wants to hide annomusly and call someone a liar. Brave! Anyway back to kibo. A slimmed down Board is a good start. | sirianbotham

01/10/2021 06:37 | Creatures? Now that’s not very nice is it, and I have not once mentioned a placing, though how they intend to pay for projects to be progressed is another matter, I was just curious as to the “averages̶ Maths not my strong point. | frankandbeans
