a nomad, like any other service company, can stop providing services. Usually for a number of reasons
1. shrinking or exiting the nomad line of business
2. related to above, low margins and high regulatory costs, can make it uneconomical or better to allocate capital to asset management or corporate broking
3. a difficult client, ie if they are causing lots of trouble
4. reputational risk, eg wrong industry

But you would expect a company to be given informal and then formal notice anf have plenty of time to find replacement.
Obviously, reflects poorly on Kibo management.

A nomad cannot resign leaving a company's shares suspended without the permission of the FCA. The FCA would look at the request for a resignation then either grant it or refuse it. In this case the FCA has granted it. If the FCA grants permission for a nomad resignation due to company malfeasance they can also block any other nomad from stepping into the role.

That KIBO says its in very advanced discussions with another nomad is standard terminology. If it hasn't already appointed the new nomad it is unlikely to over the Christmas and New Year period.

Its a question now of wait and see.

If this goes completely down the pan then LC can take no further payments. That will at least be some solace for kissing goodbye to a shed load of cash.

Just poor form ... there is only one person tenure that needs to end and end before it's too late

agreed
pretty poor by BoD and heads should roll

They should have known that this is coming and should have started talks way before the end of current nomad tenure

What a surprise…. Not!

I’ve never had any faith or belief in LC. I’m convinced kibo’s troubles rest entirely with LC. Kibo in my opinion would be better off without him having anything to do with kibo and it’s subsidiaries…

I am sure there are many reasons why nomad wpn't extend its tenure until new one is found!

But if Kibo had no nomad lined up, they should have said today and suspended immediately!

lurker59 Dec '22 - 15:13 - 7712 of 7714

Or, alternatively, the FCA having had to look at the whole disturbing history of Kibo's past pronouncements and the nomad's role in letting them pass, has decided the latter's position is untenable. Any other theories than the absurd 'admin' one ?

I would assume they would have given the required notice - no idea how long - 1-3 months and Kibo started discussions with new nomad, as said in the rns

I don't know how long a nomad dd takes but looks like it hasn't happened until today!

If the resignation was amicable you’d expect they’d have given the company an idea so they could line up a timely replacement. The RNS suggests it’s not amicable imho so leaves Kibo scrabbling around to find a new nomad…..

The only reason a longstanding nomad resigns at short notice, isn't a mere 'admin' matter. Its because the rat it has been smelling for years has suddenly become an unbearable stench.

Well Well Well. Who'd a thought this would happen ! Coincides with attempt to get the USE IPO past the FCA. Go figure

My read is - as suspension is not immediate, looks like an admin point and suspension will be lifted on new nomad appointment.

Just my read. No advice intended!

After MAST and KAT FCA will be looking very closely at claims for USE. And anyone thinking the IPO (if it happens) will help Kibo is in fairyland. Its hiving the rag bag off because it can't afford to finance them, without which they have no value.

Not forgetting the interest accrued on the amount drawn down from the facility. I forget the % on that.

@cj41 This RNS is more positive than most. However as usual it leaves too many unanswered questions! It does however bring a sale of one of the coal assets (with or without power purchase co) a step closer.

It's not surprising that there is zero reaction to anything that comes from LC. It's a assumed to be either negative or just a load of nonsense and hot air at best.
