22/4/2006 18:40 | 1412 GMT [Dow Jones] Kesa (KESA.LN) +4.1% at 319.25p as the execution of a large buy order in the stock squeezes the shares up, says trader. "It was a large order, and they (the traders executing it) had to make quite a wide price in order to find the sellers" he adds. Believes that although the order has been filled now, the shares are likely to continue drifting higher, as "people will naturally assume that the shares are up because of whispers of an increased offer" he adds. He and other traders are skeptical this is the case, however. Kesa rejected a 325p a share approach in March. (PBA) | elmendigo3

15/3/2006 06:16 | The Times March 15, 2006 Private equity move on Kesa Electricals By Tom Bawden and Neelam Verjee KESA ELECTRICALS, the owner of the Comet chain, emerged yesterday as the target of a private equity bid approach after the retailer said that it had rejected a £1.72 billion offer. The approach, from a consortium understood to include Permira and Kohlberg Kravis Roberts, was announced a day after HMV had rejected a revised offer by Permira and days before Sir Tom Hunter, the Scottish entrepreneur, is expected to bid for Wyevale Garden Centres. Kesa, which was spun off from Kingfisher Group in 2003, said that the consortium's proposed bid of 325p a share "undervalued the company and its prospects". The rejection is understood to have the support of shareholders. Rhys Williams, an analyst at Seymour Pierce, said: "Private equity firms are flush with cash and retail businesses are quite simple to understand and the private equity firms still see value in them even though they are quite expensive on a rating basis." Shares in Kesa added 32p to close at 325p. | waldron
