Took advantage of today's drop to add some more at 660p. Was at this morning's AGM. Happy with the Board & I voted in favour of the rem. policy & report - think voting against by certain instos. was unjustified, given CEO's achievement. There are much more egregious examples of excessive pay for mediocre performance out there (e.g. at BG Group, which I attended yesterday & voted against the remuneration resolutions, as did a representative from Standard Life who also spoke on the matter). May have upset the market a bit.

I pressed for a better start time next year and had previously asked for a presentation. The CEO did give a brief overview in response. Just 2 other shareholders besides myself and the board there this year. My requests got some sympathy, so I hope for improvement next year.

A write up will be posted on ShareSoc's website later, for ShareSoc members, & I'll post a link here when it's up. Got some interesting answers to questions I raised.

Cheers,

Mark

FTSE 250 is down near 9% from its peak some ten weeks ago.Tough current to swim against but Kentz seems to have suffered disproportionately.Stupid given that bidders are in the wings restricting downside and the company has confirmed how well they're doing. Its not been a climate to announce any results, good or bad..

Looks like a bit of a kerfuffle over remuneration - this has been rumbling for years, so it's good that this is finally being addressed and appears to have come to a head:

Here's the FT from a month ago:

Also added at 659p. At least there's no stamp duty - anyone know why?

In summary from Investec today:

"Kentz (Buy - TP: 810p)
Painting by numbers - Buy

Despite worries elsewhere about the slowdown in the oil industry's rate of spending, Kentz's IMS paints an optimistic growth picture for 2014 and beyond. The key number is its $4.5bn order book, +47% since end-2013 and up a further 10% since the most recently disclosed figure at end-February. We leave our forecasts unchanged but believe the recent pull-back in the share price offers an attractive entry point. Buy."

Excellent IMS - everything on track:

"excellent start to 2014"

"We are confident that the 2014 financial performance of Valerus will exceed management expectations set at acquisition."

"exciting project opportunities across all business units and regions which we expect will continue to provide Kentz with significant growth.

A current P/E of 11 and a PEG of .39 suggests a buy despite this skittish market so I have added at 659p

I am fuxxing fed up with the stock market!! It doesnt matter whether companies are doing well or bad...prices are just manipulated to death to suit fund managers and hedge funds agendas...completely disconnected from the real value of companies and AIM has become a casino...totally unregulated market (instead of allowing small cap companies to grow, it just allows MMs and hedge funds to screw everyone else)...disgusting!

Just a concerted lull in midcaps with City shaking out jittery and extended PIs and traders to pick up cheap stock. No reason-great businesses like Kenz and others at bargain prices-these will multibag in a few years. Volume says it all. Those with patience and money happy to see this. Traders and the leveraged lose out. Kenz as a business is flying-i invest on that basis. £30plus in a few years. Imo

Good trading statement this morning - all the key metrics like backlog, pipeline, order book etc looking very healthy indeed:

"Outlook

We have had an excellent start to 2014 and are extremely pleased with the order intake to date. We have identified other exciting project opportunities across all business units and regions which we expect will continue to provide Kentz with significant growth. Our clients continue to invest in both capex and opex and having such a differentiated service offering allows Kentz to participate in many areas of our clients' developments. This is evidenced by the growing pipeline of prospects which stands at US$16.3bn. We expect operational activity to be weighted towards the second half of the year, in line with our client's project schedules. Our acquisition of Valerus has been received very well by our shareholders and clients and we look forward to building on this strong base.

Overall, we are confident of delivering on our targets for 2014 and remain focused on continuing to grow our company in 2015 and beyond."
