Interesting Katsy, perhaps they are trying to inflate away their Covid debts...?

The term I was searching for, now my brain has de-frosted, was shrinkflation.

Nobody plugs that into their cunning calculations but it is a very real phenomenon by which a firm increases it profits by selling less for more, or more for less, depending on your viewpoint!

I buy a Twix now and it is tiny compared with what I recall, so it's not just Wagon Wheels and Toblerone. Bars of soap have shrunk, if you could count the sheets of paper in the toilet roll it would no doubt be fewer, and so on.

And half of a packet of crisps is empty, or Pringle tube not full, or tin of beans with more water added. Grrrr. Kefi should think of selling less than a troy ounce if we ever get to selling any at all that is...I mean, if it was good enough for Henry VIII...

Hi Tops. Where did I say most indices? Spx is going 300 lower before rockets to 4600. Gold 1880, 2000 then 1550. It won't get past 2067 for a long long time and to be fair to moi I did call the 2075 top to the day ;)Hope you're well.

To be fair TA, saying most indices are going to hit xyz if you wait long enough is probably not a gamble, lol.

What annoys me is how they bang on about inflation being out of its 2% range due to all these other recent factors - Ukraine, Covid etc - yet they never have taken into account the biggest inflation aspect - the bubble that was the FTSE and other such assets that took the bubble creating QE money.

Add that in as I believe they should and things have always been way above the nominal CPI/RPI or whatever con they call it these days.

Quite apart from packet inflation (forget the term, where a company keeps the price the same but reduces the product, like Toblerone or Wagon Wheels, lol). Anyway, just a personal gripe.

As for Kefi, I see we have another couple of job adverts on the go for TK. Hands up who recalls the last lot early last year. I said then that they would be indicative of sweet FA. Maybe these will be genuine enough to have both applicants and an acceptance for the lucky few? Even if only to add to the gardening leave list...

I hate to say we've been encouraged by job adverts before...but...

Heaven knows how much we are paying for gardening leave for all those management types we recruited to run the show too. I've said that before too, but there is no harm in wondering if anyone else gives a hoot one more time.
