I traded kaz in my younger day. Made a few quid. Not as much as I've made just buying and holding though!It's also far less stressful when you are not trying to make a profit each day...

yes , as always I seem to go out at the wrong time from 1pm today and copper price took off - a great trade in KAX for those on the ball !
I worry about tradejunkie ! ( wry smile )

Well copper rallied. It helped but has not yet turned us blue. Something else must having influenced the price today... May correct tomorrow given copper's relatively healthy push.

yes, not sure why it has been hit so badly today but most mining stocks falling - copper price stable but market must be expecting a fall soon

quite a recovery today on back of small increase in copper price . Sorry I was out today and missed a great trade !

The frenzy in the copper market is luring traders to take high-flying bets that prices are headed back toward a record.

Call options wagering on copper climbing above $10,000 a metric ton by December 2018 have started trading during the past two weeks, London Metal Exchange data show. In total, traders have spent about $4.5 million on the contracts.

Bozymchak produced 7 kt of copper cathode and 38 koz of gold bar in the year to 31 December 2016.

My view, TJunkie, is that in the scheme of things, the market was not overly concerned although some trades were certainly triggered as the news dropped.

BOZYMCHAK TEMPORARY SUSPENSIOn OF OPERATIONS

KAZ Minerals PLC ("KAZ Minerals" or "the Group") announces that the Government of Kyrgyzstan has today suspended operations at Bozymchak, the Group's copper and gold mine in Kyrgyzstan, for a period of three months. The Group believes that Bozymchak is in compliance with its obligations and is in discussions with the relevant authorities to recommence operations as soon as possible.

Bozymchak produced 7 kt of copper cathode and 38 koz of gold bar in the year to 31 December 2016. The Group's 2017 copper production guidance remains 250-270 kt.
