Kavango Resources plc (LSE:KAV) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr David Smith as Non-Executive Chairman and Mr Ben Turney as an Executive Director to the Board of Directors, with immediate effect.

David Smith, 65, is a solicitor who has worked in corporate finance and the equity capital markets for over 30 years. He has considerable practical experience of corporate governance, regulatory and compliance issues, and has advised junior mining companies, both quoted and private, extensively throughout his career. Between 2007 and 2016 he was a partner in an international law firm with a considerable reputation for mining law. Since January 2016 he has been a partner in Druces LLP, the Company's solicitors, where he has helped the firm's Capital Markets team establish itself as a significant player in the small cap sector, particularly among natural resources companies.

David will lead the Board at Kavango with particular focus on internal controls and corporate governance.

Ben Turney, 42, has been working as a consultant for Kavango since April 2020. He has played a key role in reshaping the company's investor relations and the successful completion of the recent GBP2million placement.
