The problem with Simon Thompson tips is that they are almost always short lived. So much short term trading off the back of them. Traders will sit there at 11.59am and get ready to hammer the buy button on any tip with a buy flag and then sell within the hour. Unfortunate but true and plenty will bail at the new high. Obviously I don't agree with him on this one. Strip the cash out if you want but that pile shrunk significantly in the previous half so doing that may be foolish long term. What's it going to be in the next set of results? Bigger or smaller? Will the expanded marketing budget continue to drag on margins? Is a shrinking cash pile a sign that aquisitions are not likley in the near future? Big question marks that seriously affect the valuation. It's a hold for me too fundamentally but if he'd been honest (maybe a bit harsh!) and said that coming off a strong buy there would have been a sell off that I didn't want to get involved in so I bailed. Could have come out almost on my average today and I definitely would have in hope of buying this cheaper further down the line. But never mind. Coulda shoulda woulda. I'd be surprised to see this move even past 80 under the figures we saw yesterday until the SAAS model is proven. Didn't see that happening. Dont really see how the situation that has driven the drop over the past year has changed?

Regardless of what you think of ST, he doesn't half have some pull - barrage of buying post that update!

I'm not an IC subscriber but I have seen abit of the "Exploit Kape’s valuation anomaly" article:

Ex cash current p/e 9, which is apparently ridiculously low for the growth to come. Furthermore, forward cash-adjusted PE ratio is only 7 so it's a strong buy from him.

I don't follow any of these "gurus" but this does "look" cheap. It looks like the $7.1m invested in new customer acquisitions is causing some concern, but if the market can gather some confidence, and bearing in mind the stock has pretty much halved from the highs, then this stock does have the scope to re-rate significantly higher.

I'm not suggesting it hits the highs again in a flash up at around 130, but with the stock absolutely hammered, and the market so bearish on the valuation, it's still a hold at worst for me. Not overweight or anything and not as confident as ST, but worth a punt down at these levels because abit of confidence changes the whole game here, particularly considering the illiquidity when sellers are cleared at depressed levels.

Just add something in here. Part of the reason I call this is a punt is because there seems to ALWAYS be a seller in size here, regardless of the valuation. It just smells abit suspect at times. I'd really like to see some big volume clear out of these sellers and a break of that downtrend in the chart. Sometimes the chart can be telling you alot more than you think so I'm on guard here too.

But as always, form your own opinions.

Taken a few at 68. Looks massively oversold and very cheap.

Significant volume coming in here too. Some whopping buys hitting the book now.

Something going on?

ST at IC "STRONG BUY"

"Strip out cash from the share price and the price/earnings (PE) ratio is only 9... remains well on track to deliver another step change in profitability in 2020 when Shore Capital predicts Kape will report revenue of $83m, pre-tax profit of $16.3m and EPS of 9.2¢ (7.4p). On that basis, the forward cash-adjusted PE ratio is only 7. Strong buy."

Well good luck all the same. A night's reflection on yesterday and I'm pulling the plug before tips emerge. Marketing and R&D are not investments. If we're growing just to stand still then that's not a good state of affairs. Quite dangerous actually. Good luck everyone holding on.

Taken another 3rd out on this flatline while we're still within earshot of my average. Got to say it's not looking good for share price progression over the next half. Those added costs have really soured revenue growth. Should have clicked when that was all they reported in the trading update. Think any pullback from Simon Thompson at this stage could really do a lot of damage. I'll buy some back if that happens. Maybe I'm clueless. Maybe not.
