10/11/2011 11:20 | So how much does the board control % wise and how much clout does the board have with the big shareholders here to get this through at such a low level ? dyor etc... | energiser01
10/11/2011 11:01 | Only positive to it is a potential quick 10% profit on todays price for holding for 4 weeks. DYOR. | beefeater25
10/11/2011 10:59 | A bid of 270p would have equated to an approximate bid of $4.70/lb (based on 512mlb), whereas the recent Rio offer for Hathor equates to $9.90/lb. Therefore CGNPC bid should really be valued more towards 540p. However, we have to take into consideration that this potential bid is being made without the mining licence. Im sure that once the mining licence is issued, this will take away any risk to the resource and will attract those that are currently "sitting on the fence." Does anyone know if the 'MORE' programme is still in place? If it is and resource was eventually increase to 1m lbs then that could double the value to approx 1080p.(based on Rios bid) Just shows the upside present here and also how much a bid of 243p would undervalue KAH. Im not sure why the Chinese would even think they would get away with a bid like this or why the management would recommend it? Got to be more to it... | beefeater25
10/11/2011 10:05 | BeefEater, I'm sure quite a few people will be agreeing with you. The board can recommend a 243p offer, but that doesn't necessarily mean the vote will be in favour. Too low in my opinion. CGNPC can go away and stop trying to get KAH on the cheap. Add 100p on and 343p would be more acceptable and still a very good buy. Cheers, Niels | nielsc
10/11/2011 09:38 | The building industry in Namibia seems to be having problems with the Chinese companies, so I guess we should be relieved we are not in that industry... To read article go to the website of The Namibian newspaper..... | tebbin

10/11/2011 08:45 | If it wasn't for Italy - one might have suspicions that the price was being massaged with some strategic transactions. | grimbo

10/11/2011 07:40 | i hope not cool... | aughton 3
10/11/2011 07:33 | One gets the feeling that Kalahari think they can put the money to far better use now elsewhere with larger returns and where they have more control of what happens. I'd be pretty astonished if they didn't think this won't attract more bidders. I'd also be pretty amazed if they think that a majority of their current major shareholders would sell at this price. | grimbo
10/11/2011 07:26 | no-one excited about that bid then lol | stu31
10/11/2011 07:20 | Rio Tinto won't sit by and accept this scenario.... | cool runnings
10/11/2011 07:18 | Laughable offer. Proved up more resources since original offer, nearer to obtaining mining license and recent sector takeover valued target's resources at over twice our original offer.....and we're accepting even less? Have we allowed Santa to lead the negotiations? Just givin' it away! | eddie catflap

10/11/2011 01:59 | It reads as though they don't necessarily know the answer themselves yet: Extract Resources Ltd (the Company) has requested a trading halt for trading in securities of the Company on the ASX from pre-open on 10 November 2011, until the earlier of the commencement of trading on 14 November 2011 or when an announcement is released to the market relating to the discussions between CGNPC Uranium Resources Co Ltd and Kalahari Minerals Plc, Extract's 42.74% shareholder. The Company has requested the trading halt pending the expected release of an announcement by Kalahari on the London Stock Exchange. The Company is not aware of any reason why the trading halt should not be granted | zangdook

07/11/2011 11:54 | meanwhile those of us in NRRP await to see what transpires..sp has dropped back to buying levels for me.Interestingly the chinese are keener on buying up proven ,licensed assets than funding exploration imo of course.... | sparty1
07/11/2011 08:05 | avc, you interpreted my comment correctly. This in its own right may be a cause for the delay. KAH would argue that the t/o value should be based on the assumption the licence would arrive very soon; the Chinese or any other buyer would try to argue that the price needed to be lower because the licence might not arrive or could have expensive conditions. I could not comment on who might have influence on the Namibia government. But they do have a vested interest because Namibia would own part of the mine and derive income from it. IMO the licence will arrive and the mine will go forward. Who the owner will be in 2012-15 is the unknown. | grahamg8
