I don't think this directly benefits JCR but, indirectly, it is a reflection of an improving sentiment in car markets that may gradually be an indirect benefit in months ahead.

There were 359,612 cars registered in September, which was the first month of the new plate. That was 8.2% up on the same month last year and 26,000 more cars than the SMMT had been expecting.

"The strength of private car sales in September may be a sign that consumers are becoming a bit more prepared - and able - to spend as they are helped by rising employment and a halving in consumer price inflation from the September 2011 peak level of 5.2%," said Howard Archer, chief UK economist at IHS Global Insight.

In the past it has been difficult to see a link between recruitment and performance but I do sense that they are busier than they have been and with more work from contracts that will produce the volume in the winter this could be good news I feel on balance.
They have the 2 extra sites now as well which are looking for a few of the staff on the list.

£1m cashflow is good but half is down to working capital, leaving £500k underlying. You could easily get a reversal of working cap in H2, depending on weather towards year end, to wipe that out and get no cashflow, pushing debt up again. Integrating acquisitions is a drag for about 12 months, if I remember correctly, so I wouldn't expect H2 to get much better but it raises hopes for next year. It is a step in the right direction in difficult circumstances and the dividend is still there so plenty of reason to be happy for now.

Thanks for the update harrogate - its good to know that management are confident (JCR seem to have always said it like it is so that's good), it won't take much of an improvement in margins or organic growth in higher margin sales to make a material difference to profit and return the safety net to where it should be.

I think from where they were and the decimation caused by general market volume reduction + the RBS massive loss across the branches they are doing very well. I went to see the management and I am comfortable that they are on track for a better H2 and continued growth. I would recommend you did the same if you want a better feel for what is going on

Yes cashflow is good but from where they are long term they need to have post tax profit > divis to pay down the debt. The days of cashflow far exceeding depreciation charges are unfortunately long gone, at some stage in the not too distant future they may need to invest more than the depreciation charge particularly if they want to expand.Any large period inflows in cashflow are likely to have similar amounts going the other way in the future. Don't get me wrong though its good that they had positive cashflow and in reflection i would say it is a job well done returning to "minimum acceptable profitability to keep head above water and pay us a small beer bonus" - i am just thinking about the allowing for a worsening in trade within the business plan - there does not seem to be much at present - hopefully now though there is a bit more stability as in some respects they have adjusted to the way things are with the current economic climate.

Can't believe the shareprice hasn't jumped 50% this am we mustn't be doing enough ramping :)

I like the results. Nice cashflow.

No affect on the share price though. ;O)

I think that is good progress and I expect better in H2 this year as new business starts. I thought cash generation was good given they spent £200k on assets in the half. Dividend will come through as normal and indeed there should have bene a payment already to you since delisting. I am happiet than I was at time of delisting that is for sure and I think given the market they are doing well.

Now that they have delisted, will we still get our divi through to us does anyone know please? My holding was switched 2 years ago to nominee status.

Half way there I guess - good that they are back to profitability but still short of what they need in the future to maintain divi and make some decent progress on eliminating the debt.

JustCar Clinics has hit the airwaves for the very first time in the company's history to promote its brand new retail offer. Severe weather across the Midlands has resulted in an unusually high number of damaged vehicles for this time of year across the Midlands causing the UK's second largest accident repair company to launch their 'Exceptional Volume Plan' in June for the first time in the firm's history.

Just Car Clinics has 24 sites with a large number in the Midlands where freak storms with golf ball sized hailstones have caused extreme damage to windscreens and body work of an unprecedented number of cars for this time of year.

Yes, they have Solus. RSA have their QRC's, and RBS (Direct Line Group) have their UK Assistance sites. Markerstudy also have 4 bodyshops.

Solus operate mainly in London, but also have sites in the Midlands (Coventry and Birmingham) and the North West. They do not have any sites in the Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Yorkshire and North East areas.

Is it Aviva who have their own "out of house" in house repair company?
