01/6/2012 14:36 | Nationwide trading statement relating to a parting of the ways on some Aviva work - in case you haven't seen it: Presumably this is a £20m repair contract when annualised. It will be interesting to see who the 'winners' are out of this. Anybody heard anything? | yorkshiret
23/5/2012 16:29 | Average petrol down to 136.03p. I've seen it at 132.9p locally so about 8% down now from highs that I've had to pay. Traffic seems to have been heavy of late but I'm guessing the dry weather will have more effect. Lots of people don't seem to be concentrating in the sun, though. | aleman
23/5/2012 15:51 | Thank you, guys, problem now solved. Note to self: must check my TDW account more often! Didn't realise they were still holding my shares following the de-listing. | glenowen
22/5/2012 11:35 | Hello glenowen I have a TDW nominee account and my div has been credited to my account. | rmillaree
22/5/2012 11:03 | I got mine ok with Brewin Dolphin. See no reason not to call TDW first since they held your shares | harrogate
22/5/2012 11:00 | Didn't receive my dividend in late April. Shares were held prior to de-listing in nominee account by TD Waterhouse. I'd assumed they would have automatically been transferred to the share register in my name following de-listing. Anyone else had this problem? Who to contact first, though? The company secretary, TD Waterhouse or Capita Registrars? | glenowen
18/5/2012 12:51 | Brent crude still falling at $107. Petrol now following it down at 137p national average. | aleman
16/5/2012 09:42 | Unemployment in Yorkshire and Humberside fell exceptionally sharply from 9.9% to 9.0% in the latest quarter. I hope this helps us out a bit. The national numbers were quite strong but Y&H, with around 10% of the population, accounted for just over half of the 45k fall. The general trend nationally seems to be improving in recent months - at odds with official GDP figures which many economists have been questioning. | aleman
11/5/2012 13:50 | National average dipped below 140p at last, to 139.19p. | aleman
04/5/2012 15:10 | Petrol prices just starting to ease a touch (belatedly). Today's sharp drop in oil prices will do no harm. WTI is $98 and Brent $111. | aleman
27/4/2012 12:21 | Got mine. The company may have gone private but the cheque looks just the same. :-) Having shares in JCR makes me feel slightly better about the awful wet weather we've had here for the last 3 weeks. | aleman
27/4/2012 11:31 | Divi paid today. | liarspoker
23/4/2012 14:09 | I did ask after you, h. I was very surprised not to see you. It was a bit of a non-event really but I definitely felt slightly reassured, as you might when you have to go for long periods without news. I'm glad I asked several questions or we'd have got nowt! I think they may tell you slightly more as you have more money committed and seem to be trusted and possibly ask more targetted questions. I'm happy enough to stay invested and keep taking the dividends but would always be happy for any more information. | aleman
23/4/2012 14:08 | Thanks Aleman. Your feedback is appreciated. :O) | liarspoker
23/4/2012 13:54 | Hi Thanks for the summary ..Had been planning to go to AGM and had lots of questions ready but something came up at work this morning so had to miss it. Glad I did by the sound of the lack of info. I am planning to go in and have a chat with the guys in a week or two instead. | harrogate
23/4/2012 13:19 | I found the meeting reassuring, although they were very reserved, as usual and, particularly, as there was a NARS employee present as a JCR shareholder. There was no trading update as such but I got the impression it is steady as she goes in a difficult market. (It was pointed out that lack of news means little change, as they try maintain the standards of a listed company.) So there's no recovery yet but the company has cut its cloth to the lower level of business and should hopefully remain in profit and do well when things eventually pick up. I was given the impression they expect to maintain the dividend so long as things get no worse. Further acquisitions weren't ruled out if the price was compelling enough but didn't look very likely given the asking prices for depressed current returns. I asked about the matched bargain trading and it seems to have been minimal volume with erratic prices. It seems they are open to buying more shares back around the low 20s level, which they feel benefits remaining shareholders, and might try to sort out technicals to allow the broker to mop up small bits to sell back to the company in a block. (They need a resolution for each buy-back, as with Amati.) | aleman
20/4/2012 16:15 | Retail sales figures show automotive fuel sales are rising again, and not just because of the tanker strike. Looks to be recovering at an underlying rate of around 4% p.a. in volume after falling by double figures through 2010. Who's going to the AGM? | aleman
11/4/2012 10:52 | THe average UK petrol price is still way up there at 142.44p but Brent's very high premium over WTI recently has eased a touch recently: | aleman
02/4/2012 14:46 | ABP Club Economic Climate Survey: | yorkshiret
02/4/2012 09:23 | Nationwide results are out - FYI | yorkshiret
27/3/2012 14:14 | I am not sure it is anyone in particular at the moment ..aren't they just getting permission to do it and then will see if they can | harrogate
27/3/2012 13:55 | Let's hope so. :O) Is the 200K anyone else on here ? I could take 100K at the moment but at less than 24p ( I have an order in at 16.5p actually ). Just contact me at marketswings@yahoo.i | liarspoker
27/3/2012 13:07 | Not me ..not at 24p .. I think we can see double that in the next 18 months | harrogate
23/3/2012 13:40 | The sectors are not the same at all ..I wish they were !!! I think JCR will be sold in the next 18 months at a price above 50p and since I have too many to sell I hope I am right | harrogate |
