Good to hear Slater is happy with his Jubilee holdings and so am I. Looking forward to Jubilee making good progress this year increasing production.

... re the interview in Afrikaans

The interviewer initially tried to compare jlp with DRD Gold (also in the tailings business) but Leon explained the difference as, although we also use off-the-shelf technologies, we have a unique design and package for each heap (based on why there were metals/minerals left behind...etc.)

And yes, he was very pro Zambian government and not so much SA's. It is clear that mines know "how to" and "what to" in Zambia, thus an influx of new investors into the region(he actually said that he can phone the Mining Minister tomorrow)

Expansion (building a facility) in SA will be in the Burgersfort area (NE part of the country - map below showing mines in area - mainly platinum & chrome)

Zambia very pro-mining. Good access to government staff who can say how regulations will be interpreted, gives clarity to potential investors of any risks. Access to Minister of Mines in Zambia excellent, could get to see Minister within a few days (can't say how long it would take to see SA Mines Minister)

cobalt production within 2 weeks (interview dated 8th June).

Global exploration has decreased dramatically over the last few years, capital availability for exploration reduced significantly. Takes minimum of 5 years to go from exploration to getting mine into production so it is vital that new mines get discovered in the short term. Assume this is his way of saying JLP in sweet spot as metal prices will keep rising and JLP are the most efficient at "mining" the heaps.

Metal pricing is obviously material but jlp would be making a profit well in advance of what the share price is indicating. However, as you say, what we need is NEWS and FIGURES!

Metal pricing weighing on Jubilee, likely cause of the sell off.

BBI at it's lowest since October 2020 - (currently $2331) in a downward trend due to macro economics - not directly related to Jubilee. Copper also in the doldrums, well under the £10k per ton, optimum.

Director selling eroding confidence also not helping.

Bearing in mind the above the share price has shown some resilience over the last few days.

Could do with some good news though to stop the rot - LOL

Agree SB. There are many reasons for selling but only one reason for buying.

In the scale of things alpal its hardly a fortune, £225K..there may be a tax bill he needs to pay; there may be all kinds of reasons why he chose to sell right now... He may have sold them to his wife.... it doesn't necessarily mean anything.

Just the fact that Phosa is selling, is a clear indication that there's no good news coming in the short term. As a director, he would know if there was anything in the offing.

That would be nice - and why wouldn't he if he truly believes in the business.
Whatever is being played out with these volume trades at the moment is still ongoing too. Markets in general are in a bad way so we may feel the drag from that though if the FTSE and Dow etc. continue their sharp declines into the close.

There is the possibility we might get another RNS within the next couple of days announcing Ollie the new chairman has bought shares.

Copied from Dorfin on LSEsb on the ADVFN thread would like to know what was said when Leon was interviewed by Ryk van Niekerk for Moneyweb in South Africa.I do not post on the ADVFN thread but if anybody does please pass on to sb, and all who do not speak Afrikaans the gist of what was said. Leon was asked to explain the Jubilee process which he did and all that was new he mentioned that in South Africa they WERE looking to erect a plant on the East Limb to process the ore. When asked about Gwen Mantashe (the minister of mines in SA who had given Sibanye a hard time) he mentioned he was not at all worried about South African mining regulations .When questioned about Zambia which was a nightmare under the previous government,he said that the company had a good relationship with the Zambian authorities who were looking to improve on the previous relationships. He also confirmed that the production of Cobalt would begin this month

If it was a sell then you would have to imagine the price action would have been rather more negative I think, Ade? Although there have been some bery hefty transaction sin the last few days that have had little impact on price, which makes me think they are managed transfers between accounts rather than outright sells and buys.
