21/4/2021 20:02 | Thats’s great to know ... 30p here we come then | kennyp52
21/4/2021 19:51 | I went over my calculations for JLP for the next two years and compared it to WHI. My numbers came out one year in advance of WHI mainly due to the metal prices. I also used an exchange rate of 1.45$/igbp and a tax rate of 25%.The result was a doubling of the share price from here over the next 18 months and this on a P/E of 7. I assumed a Cu production of 8k mt. The upshot is that in 1 yrs time JLP will have well over $150m to spend on expansion opportunities which with matching borrowings will yield an additional $120m of contribution which on a P/E of 7 will nearly double the share price All this excludes any reference to Tjate. A share to hold onto. | timhigginson
21/4/2021 19:31 | coinbase. When some new bloke turns up, and within a day is telling guys who have held for ten to fifteen years, not to get their 'knickers in a twist', it's quite amusing. They have probably forgotten more than you will ever know on Jubilee. Just saying! | gsg
21/4/2021 19:13 | I don't know why so many of you are getting your knickers in a twist. I cannot remember the last time I stumbled across such a compelling investment case. Those of you that can sit on your hands long enough to realise it will do extremely well. | coinbase
21/4/2021 18:20 | I am much more encouraged by Cu price than the wild swings of Rh. More sustainable. Frog. | frogkid
21/4/2021 18:09 | Copper also looking good, just need some news. | robers98
21/4/2021 17:25 | Wow, palladium currently up 4% at $2871. | gsg
21/4/2021 17:23 | I see 15.7 Freedom | frogkid
21/4/2021 17:01 | Well, at least the share price has closed UP with the bid ticking up twice today. Remember, due to the UT trade after yesterdays close, it made the share price look like it was down when markets opened this morning. | freedom97
21/4/2021 16:41 | this was par for jlp for years | adejuk
21/4/2021 16:26 | I'm bored shirtless with this. Might sell up and buy a holiday home... | frogkid
21/4/2021 13:28 | WHI have been sat on the ask for ages so I am seeing their appearance as lead broker on the bid as a big positive. FTSE has also recovered well after an early sell off: | the skipper
21/4/2021 12:49 | The Rand has strengthened recently due to better than inflation numbers and the increase in fiscal, due to revenue from mining companies due to high metal prices. Inflation is going to go higher in the long term and as I said in my previous post the government here is unstable and problems are brewing. The Rand may strengthen in the near term but over time is always going to weaken. | ottod
21/4/2021 11:36 | OttodAgree, the share price always tends to drift when comms are vague and overdue. My long term Rand outlook is also rather pessimistic. Any thoughts on the current Rand strength as local economics would suggest this is likely short lived? | aceshi
21/4/2021 09:05 | So, WH Ireland have now switched to being alone on the bid. L2 1 v 1. Lets hope they stay there and push on. Time will tell. | gsg
21/4/2021 08:26 | Rand weakness will be a positive effect on the share price of Jubilee because all income is in dollars. Rand over the last few months has been strong and could get even stronger over the next couple of months. However SA is a third world country with a very questionable government. Expect Rand weakness in the long term future. Main driver of the stock up or down will be information from Jubilee which is now overdue. | ottod
21/4/2021 07:55 | Dan why not try and keep up. The Rand vs USD affect the JSE share price is worth consideration. Mikebolle1 We have actually touched on this previously. I think consensus was similar to Bullsters suggestion of a fairly nominal effect. Main issue is, as the Rand strengthens, so in theory, our operational costs in USD terms rise as well. Any other opinions. It is an interesting point, especially for those of us on the JSE. | aceshi
21/4/2021 07:16 | Shut up Daniel..... I call what see and have mostly been far more accurate than some of our regular "experts" I wouldn't continue to hold if I didn't believe in the business model. However I am not a Birdman fan and have not always agreed with managements communication strategies and their more often than not ambiguous and lacking in factual content, RNSs. It's called an opinion and it's based on almost 12 years of being a JLP investor. Do you actually have anything to offer here, or are you actually the troll who spends his life trying to be heard but nothing of value to say? ....... Because I see you are busy stirring our old friend Phat Grunter, over on another board. Get a life, everyone who's been around a while knows full well what you're about | aceshi
20/4/2021 18:05 | I guess I must miss him. Before you started wearing a halo I seem to recall you weren't beyond making mischief from time to time. | danieldanrichardson
20/4/2021 17:44 | . . mikebolle1, The average currency exchange deficit over the full year works out to 2 rand less per dollar. The rise of the pgm basket blows the currency fluctuation out of the water, anyway. . . | bullster
20/4/2021 17:09 | No Bullster, I'm saying we are getting now 4 Rands less for each Dollar earned. This is from the latest AR (p19): "Currency risk is the risk of the possibility that one currency will devalue to the exchanger’s detriment. The Group’s PGMs, chrome and copper metals are priced in US$ while operating costs are incurred in ZAR and ZMK. The Group has, in an effort to minimise the impact of currency movements on revenue, agreed with selected customers to invoice in US$ to protect revenues from being dependent, inter alia, on prevailing exchange rates and commodity prices which are hugely affected by global economic climates. Movements in exchange rates and commodity prices do however impact the profitability of the Group as certain operating costs are incurred in ZAR and ZMK. The Group finances its operations by transferring £ and US$ to meet local and offshore operating costs. The Group does not hedge its exposure to foreign currency risk and is therefore exposed to currency fluctuations between these two currencies and local currencies. Transfer of currency is managed by the Executive Committee of the Company to ensure that currency devaluation is minimised." We earn in US$, convert it to e.g. ZAR to pay operating costs. If everything stays the same, we are getting now +- 4 Rand less for each Dollar. | mikebolle1
20/4/2021 16:55 | It's just ticked up on a UT trade at the closing auction which creates a false mid price. It will reset at the proper mid price on opening tomorrow. No big deal. | gsg |
