Guidance is law. The Police and public understand both.

Law:

The government guidance on lockdown 3.0 opens with apparently deliberate ambiguity: “You should follow this guidance immediately. This is the law.” The juxtaposition of those sentences, even with the link included, appears intended to suggest the law requires you to follow the guidance. Such is misleading and not true. Citizens have a choice whether or not to follow the guidance.

Further to Clarkson's recent ahead of guidance profit forecast for 2020 driven by a very strong second half performance, we now have Maersk the world's largest freight container carrier also confirming that demand for shipping and marine fuel oil has bounced back very strongly in H2/2021 and this performance looks set to continue in 2021.

Maersk - mentioned in the summer as a new holding and since up 135% - is working at full capacity according to a press release last week, and can't yet see a peak in freight rates that have already been propelled to record highs by pandemic consumer spending.

The company said spot rates for 40ft freight containers soared over 50% during 2020, some 30% above the 8 year average.

Pen - good question on 'goodwill'. It is on my list to update myself on the current rules.

It used to be a method of buying in 'expense' and putting it on the Balance Sheet.
eg: Company A carries out R&D and books the costs. Company B buys a company that has carried out the same R&D and puts the cost on the Balance Sheet.

I don't know how many smoke and mirror opportunities still exist. I shall investigate when I have a moment.

BLM were left free to trash, loot and burn America for atleast 8 months, with no military action taken, no "wanted" FBI posters like those seen all over DC, no mass censorship of their supporters.

my take on flu vaccines is that they are effective but there are many strains current in any flu season, the jab we get is based on what they believe will be the most prevalent strains in the coming winter. With many others we remain unprotected.

mro.. Flu vaccines in general are about 50% effective. Why should this strain be any different?
Politically, can the drug companies say its only 50% effective, as that means lockdown continues indefinitely.
