20/3/2018 12:01 | I always feel that any IPO that opens at a respectable premium in a cr*p market looks interesting. Pretty impressed by premium achieved by JTC which opened a few days ago, especially when nearly 80% of the stock was placed. It provides professional services to fund managers, with global spread of clients. The global trust and corporate services market estimated to be worth £5bn, with this market expected to grow by 3%/ 4% pa over next few years, particularly with ever increasing regulatory requirements. JTC has a market share of just 1%, which is expected by Numis to continue to increase. At present 307p, it is capitalised at £330m which represents 16 times Numis' forecast of 2019 earnings of £20m, admittedly after a low tax charge due to Jersey residence. JTC has achieved decent past growth, which Numis expect to continue. | stuffee
20/3/2018 11:55 | Best cities to live in. Rankings bossed by Europe (particularly Germany) and the Commonwealth. London too filthy and traffic-choked to fair well. | blusteradjuster
20/3/2018 06:48 | I see US debt pushed through $21 Trillion yesterday | jtcod
19/3/2018 22:55 | PYC All this Cambridge Analytica stuff shows what can be done with simple manipulation of Big Data using machine learning/AI etc to 'win' elections Just imagine how much good could come from manipulation of all the data gathered in historic biotech/pharmaceutic This is a potential Holy Grail tech solution for which Physiomics are massively well placed to drive and benefit from | the stigologist
19/3/2018 16:14 | Doing Dublin, Belfast, Birmingham & London in July this year. | scottishfield
19/3/2018 16:14 | JT, if you get an hour or so.. this is a wonderful documentary. Some crazy characters. You See Me Laughin': the last of the hill country bluesmen (Mississippi Blues documentary - 2002) The first guy up, T Model Ford. I saw him live and met him afterwards. Crazy character. think he picked up the guitar for the first time when he was in his 60's! | mr roper
19/3/2018 16:09 | Yes I like that guy Mr RScottishfieldNot seen him live mores the pity. I can imagine he is worth the money | jtcod
19/3/2018 15:57 | like that Steve Earle, JT. Very nice indeed. Not sure you'll have heard of this guy, Junior Kimbrough. Wish i'd got to see him live in his joint. Check out the footage below: | mr roper
19/3/2018 13:46 | Yes that is a good one. Saw Steve Earle in North Caroline 2 years ago & looking fwd to him in Belfast this year. Great in the small venues, and v chatty, entertaining etc | scottishfield
19/3/2018 11:38 | I think you might like this album Mr RSteve Earle wrote his first blues album in 2015 called Terraplane I played it to death for months when I got it and it still sounds good today. https://m.youtube.co | jtcod
19/3/2018 10:19 | also, to get the real CRB experience, they encourage tapers at their shows so there are a whole load of full show audios on youtube. They are phenomenal. Here's a good one from last month. | mr roper
19/3/2018 08:55 | JT, Np, for the CRB... start at the beginning with Big Moon Ritual - for accessibility, i'd probably go through the albums the following way... 1) Big Moon Ritual 2) Barefoot in the Head 3) Magic Door 4) Phosphorescent Harvest 5) Anyway you love, we know how you feel Also, worth getting a hold of the Betty's Blends CRB Live Vol 1-3. They are all produced by Betty Cantor-Jackson (who used to do the boards for the Grateful Dead). They are beautifully produced. For the Black Crowes - probably something along these lines. FYI - the Crowes are a bit rockier than the CRB. 1) Southern Harmony and Musical Companion 2) Amorica 3) 3 Snakes and One Charm 4) By Your Side 5) Before the Frost/Until the Freez 6) Share your moneymaker | mr roper
19/3/2018 08:42 | Mr RoperThanks for bringing Chris Robinson Brotherhood to my attention. Strangely I had never come across him or The Black Crows. Have now listened to a few of their tracks and gotta say what a great band of musicians. I really like his vocals too. One or two numbers have that great funky feel of Little Feet I think. Would you recommend an particular album to start with?Btw Like you I play guitar but I had the opportunity to learn piano at 11 and passed it up. What a fool. :-) | jtcod
18/3/2018 20:28 | Yes, sf. Jimmy was a fine fan. Really nice guitar player. Lovely version of the ccr classic there. Quite liking these young guys from Hertfordshire. | mr roper
18/3/2018 20:23 | R.I.P. Jimmy, my friend hxxps://www.austinch | scottishfield
18/3/2018 20:18 | Mr roper; Jimmy LaFave was a great favourite of mine. We went to see him in Holland in November 2016, he was dead in May 2017, cancer. Great guy; we had a chat in Holland. Totally a very ok, good man. If you don't know his stuff ck it out, the Bob Dylan covers are wonderful. Agree with you re piano. | scottishfield
18/3/2018 20:04 | Guitar, sf. Wish someone had forced me to learn the piano as a kid though. Went to see the Chris Robinson Brotherhood on Friday. They finished with this Lennon classic Interestingly, Jonathan wilson was the original choice to be guitarist in Chris’s band but he pulled out only to be replaced by Neil Casal, who is a wonderful guitarist and very humble person to boot. | mr roper
18/3/2018 18:39 | PYC Physiomics leading the way in 'a new era of cancer care" Incredible! No wonder they are endorsed/validated by UK Government / Oxford Uni / Oxford NHS / Merck etc | the stigologist
16/3/2018 20:33 | Mount I love Tenerife mountains i have at least 1 week there every winter and nearly every day i cycle up to Viliflor and back down its just stunning | chestnuts
16/3/2018 19:22 | You have great musical taste and knowledge Mr Roper;do you play an instrument? | scottishfield
16/3/2018 18:10 | Thanks JT - each year we have either a long weekend or week long walking & cycling break in Europe in late May or June to take advantage of the longest days of the year - Switzerland/Bernese Oberland sounds interesting and would be a new location. A regular favourite in winter is the Mount Teide National Park and surrounding Corona Forestal Natural Park - hiking and off road cycling along the alpine type nature trails at 4-5,000 ft above sea level in crystal clear crisp clean air, warm sunshine and 15-18 degree January temperatures, while admiring the breathtaking scenery never fails to draw us back - we're now into double figures of visits and the attraction of the place is still as strong as ever. Millions visit Tenerife every year - but probably, only a small faction of 1% ever explore Tenerife's incredible high altitude alpine type parks - the immense valleys, ravines, mountains and huge pine forests make it one of the most unique places i have visited anywhere in the world. | mount teide
16/3/2018 13:34 | Recommend spending some time walking and getting to know Bernese Oberland during Spring or early Autumn MT. It just makes you feel good about life and awed by the spectacle. I've been there almost 20x now. | jtcod |
