So where is there any takeover ? Or any news on the motor dealer raising his stake? The concern is now borrowings and a CVA.
m I feel a takeover, superdry in a similar position, with boss increasing stake there. dyor
This could be a very shrewd move by Next. Pull out of supporting Joules only to make a move to buy the complete company for a fraction of the price. With a current market value of a little over £10m, Next could offer £0.15 a share or £15m which offers shareholders a 50% uplift on its current valuation. This could go either way. I don’t believe Next walked away because they didn’t like the product. They wouldn’t have got involved to start with if that was the case. It’s either that Joules needs too much money, joules management went into negotiations thinking they had the upper hand or Next thinks they can go for a takeover. Let’s face it £15m-£20m is chicken feed to Next if in fact it’s worth that ?
srpactive, Well....evidently NEXT have no intent on a takeover which would have been rejected at anything like the share price it was at its lowest price when they entered talks or even at a premium price. So the most they could hope for was a reasonable stake which would reduce debt and be benificial to both parties imo. As to any meaningful appreciation all depends what the RNS says and even then there is a risk it won't amount to anything. Joules have to consider any stake could be dilutive and if they trading hasn't deteriorated then its simply a cash-flow problem which they could work through with agreed banking terms. There are a lot of iffs here so far as shareholders are concerned and risks whatever happens. The reason for a 25% stake suggests quite strongly is there is no way Joules want to be taken over so your suggestion that this will happpen is far off the mark.
Drop was overdone, should easily see this return to 40p without any big news. On any takeover rumours should see 60p. This is no where near a bust company. Founder is major shareholder with around a quarter of the shares. He bagged £12m last year so has the funds to mount a bid with a backer or bolster the s.p with further buys. He won’t let this slip away.
