Johnston Press plc (the "Company"), one of the UK's foremost news publishers, announces that Mike Butterworth, the Company's Senior Independent Director, has been appointed as a non-executive director of Johnston Press Bond plc with effect from 27 June 2018, replacing Ashley Highfield.

Johnston Press Bond plc is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Company and is the issuer of GBP220 million 8.625% senior secured notes due June 2019 (the "Bonds"). The Bonds are listed on the Irish Stock Exchange.

Notes:

There is no further information required to be disclosed under paragraph 9.6.14R of the Listing Rules of the Financial Conduct Authority relating to Mr Butterworth's appointment.
