I would put it to the fee sucker, that rather than buying the dead (for good reason) I, that rather he should have used the proceeds from the sale of our assets to repurchase bonds that at the time were 36P and costing the co 8% interest a year!!!!!!!!!!!
That alone would have guaranteed a risk free-return on that investment of over 200% in just 5 years.
Easily dwarfing without any effort or risk whatsoever the pseudo fanfare of the little tiny insignificant i.
But no, the north London bubble liberal metro pretend champagne troski's, must bring back the beloved independent!
You would bet your left arm the first thing this JPR parasite does is read the guardian every morning!

Pathetic!

Cashley is mainly bonused on Ebitda and Strategic objectives. Presumably the latter relates to the I. That is why this statement has been put out

Dandy, I honestly don't think it's going to serve any purpose whatsoever me setting out to you that a paper with a STABLE circulation of just 266k is not going to repay 220 million in debt or clear a huge pension deficit, nor may i add is 266k readers worth 180 million quid ffs!
But like i said already ;- good luck!

*edit* trades so far on the fee suckers 'great news' rns

Completely ignoring the rest of the business just to focus on the i is pathetic. Change of management desperately needed.

Apologies £12m x multiple of 15m = £180m . Bond gone

It's not an idea it's a fact. £1m per month is c£12m annually PBT in my simple mind. Multiple of 15 =£150m.Close your short it's going back to 40p

You can guarantee that one of Cashley's BONUS KPIs is to do with the I performance. Hence the timing of this RNS at year end. He will personally extract cash from JP whatever else he does. He is the most cynical man alive

Don't think so. Looks like the "I" could be worth a hell of a lot of money. Enough to pay off the bond

Fanciful narcasism by the Highfield again, this is a company that is suppose to sell advertising and not one trying to resurrect the this already dead
Tell us about local advertising across the country, web adverting sales and your plans to repay debt rather than concentrating every RNS on your pathetic insignificant obsession with the I!

Clearly this is a very childish spiteful and ill thought out RNS aimed at Mr Custos!

From some of the stuff I have read (mostly through links here) about the Viking he seems full of Braggadocio but little else.

I have to wonder therefore whether sending the EGM requisition wasn't just a deliberate 'stunt'. If we was merely a clerical error and he really wanted the EGM, then he could have reissued the requisition on the same day the original one was rejected.

Frankly I was sceptical of his claims initially and nothing that has happened contradicts that view. Sorry to say, but the odds on the Bondholders taking over the company and leaving shareholders with virtually nothing look to be shortening by the day.

(I have no position here myself, but have a degree of interest given that in the absence of an unlikely rescue I think TNI (where I am invested) might scoop up some of the assets - but not at the current valuation)

Sounds if JPR is the least of your tribulations today eddy, it's nicer than being bored with life but somehow I don't think it will get the better of you.Yes I'm annoyed with myself for succumbing to the rhetoric and now as he plays out his initial foray in battle they're back in the trenches.News will arrive from command headquarters saying there will be a new general, perhaps.

Am constantly worried Dazzz. Mostly about Brexit, genetically modified things, asteroid strikes, super-volcanoes, a modern plague, out-of-control nano-technology that reduces the Earth to barren rock, AI which supplants humanity, global warming, global cooling, nuclear Armageddon, identity theft, illness in old age, senility, genetically modified things, asteroid strikes... no wait. Definitely done that. Pension theft, loss of hearing, eyesight, teeth and mental faculties, running out of pants, boiler leaks, my friends dying, my enemies surviving... it's just never ending. It'd be nice if jpr could turn out well, but am not sure it's going to make a massive difference to anything in the long-term.

It must've been my attempt to buy a pair of tracksuit bottoms in jd sports that's done for me today. I couldn't understand what the shop assistant was saying, and when I found the price tag it seemed to be about the same price as a return flight to somewhere sunny. Will get back to gnashing my teeth over cashley tomorrow perhaps. The viking is suffering from bad admin. I imagine he'll get organised sometime soon.
