15/2/2017 22:30 | great news if true... anyone wanting to launch a bid for JPR in coming months would need to offer something in the 40s at least. | brando69
15/2/2017 22:25 | FT says the following: "Newspaper publisher Johnston Press rose 33 per cent to 22p on word that activist investor Crystal Amber had raised its stake to just below 30 per cent." | brink1
15/2/2017 22:16 | Hell eddy just posted you saying how prescient your recent posts were, from my phone and it said an error can't send, lo and behold you've just posted, you know what they say eddy......Yes you called it better than any of us here for sure so all your nocturnal studies are now paying offInteresting few days ahead for sure. | dazzaa
15/2/2017 21:42 | dazz I hope you're watching this. Seems I'm getting a bit better at making predictions; nearest to the share price for last friday and then last night am saying that we're about to see some share price action - lo and behold, +33% right on cue. Can't wait to see the rns tomorrow. What's the betting there'll be one dutifully rushed out by AH & co saying they've no idea what all the fuss is about? My preferred outcome though would be a shareholders' meeting or a straightforward resignation from AH. Has our moment finally arrived? mrsx, what are you seeing? Any chance of a newsquest bid do you think? | stdyeddy

15/2/2017 20:42 | I actually meant a rights issue, but on reflection probably not. | pediment
15/2/2017 20:41 | Thanks - I got there in the end! Perhaps it was the chairman... | netcurtains
15/2/2017 20:40 | RI = retail investor, PI = private investor i.e. one in same tomorrow should be interesting | brando69
15/2/2017 20:38 | pediment: But what does it stand for? Private Investor? Cheers Thanks | netcurtains
15/2/2017 20:34 | I think they are the same Cheers | pediment
15/2/2017 20:34 | What is a RI or PI.... Is there an online dictionary for level2 terms? | netcurtains
15/2/2017 20:30 | Well, their effective stop on the bid and flooding the ask would have the effect of hoovering up a few shares. It certainly increased volume massively. Expensive strategy unless of course whispers had been heard, but of course that never happens. You would be opening yourself up to all sorts of problems if acting on information that blatantly. Baffled but happy to see a move towards a truer valuation Cheers | pediment
15/2/2017 20:24 | Hi Pediment I'm not on level two. It has to be a PI, im guessing none of market makers had this kind of stock available in one block at a certain price for the order if that makes sense? With no stock availability and possibly news imminent meant acquiring the shares over period of time probably not possible or economical. | karlos885
15/2/2017 20:16 | I understand nobody wants to look too closely into a 33% rise, but if I was stake building why would I telegraph it with an enormous 4.75m bid on SETS which sent the price spiralling up. I understand liquidity and volume can be extremely limited on JPR but it just doesn't make sense. The large bid was hardly hit and could be considered as illegal market manipulation. I accept we are considerably undervalued but I can't imagine a scenario where inflating the share price this way is beneficial except maybe, and nobody will like this, for an RI Cheers | pediment
15/2/2017 20:16 | Curtains, there are barely enough shares left for another steak holder! :) | karlos885
15/2/2017 19:39 | This story explains why Johnston Press is unlike all the other newspapers: Interesting approach (I also liked how the "i" used Audio) | netcurtains
15/2/2017 19:30 | The rise probably an organisation buying a stake or something like a "bear trap"... More likely stake building. | netcurtains
15/2/2017 18:25 | lol indeed, I genuinely do like the JPR print team, I have a love for this company and what they do! | karlos885
15/2/2017 18:23 | nice 655,000 buy on the bell there too. | karlos885
15/2/2017 18:19 | Karlos885: I often feel if I speak nicely to my shares they go up, like plants... Everyone be nice to JPR.... Let it grow... LOL | netcurtains
15/2/2017 18:11 | netcurtains14 Feb '17 - 22:18 - 7519 of 7527 I'm all for diversification and topical features such as the one you mention, cats and dogs are a way to a reader's heart, the I should take note:) Yes editors do like to bang their own drum but you have to remember the I is the mainstream media it has a duty to report on certain hot topics of the day/week, to keep its masters pleased:). The mainstream media certainly are peddling the NHS for change story, don't ask me why ;-0 | karlos885
15/2/2017 18:02 | Weekly showing strong accumulation - a breakout could see it nearly double & tallies with broker Recent contract win & disposals read as a restructure/turnarou | luckymouse
15/2/2017 17:40 | I post occasionally in the other place under Ionic. Could I trouble those of you observing L2 this afternoon to have a look at the posts from 3.15, not terribly many, and offer your insight into the rather, shall we say, unusual SETS book today. I would very much welcome your insightful analysis. Cheers | pediment |
