Great update.. solid business.. market marks it down. Just crazy. I'm starting to get the feeling that there is absolutely no point in trying to invest in the true sense of the word. Long for growth in capital and dividends in the future.Crazy markets best left for the sharks to hopefully devour themselves. But where to go for an income from hard earned savings? I dunno.

Good trading statement today after yesterday's 10% fall.
With $5.5bn sales looks solid and a good long term bet.

Many thanks. Wonder what Barclays are up to? An extra day or 2 of interest? What a dishonorable thought! LOL

So...what does the latest stage of the "cash return" bring us?

£1.40 a share and a reduction of our holdings by 7/9ths...(which is £1.44 per share at current prices)

Or have i read it wrongly??

any bets as to what will happen to the share price after the buy back/ cancellation ? Will the company be " worth the same value" after cancelling 30% of the shares . There will certainly be a change of cash in hand .

fairly large volume at 625, is it due for the next level down ? so much for the cash return .

I posted my take on the tender offer over here:

Does anyone else concur, or have an alternative view?

Just seen the terms of the tender offer from my broker. I would like some one to reassure me that I am not going bonkers! The bid price close is 661 and they are offering to buy my shares at anything between 605 and 625 or the strike price which the broker decides - 'it will be the lowest price per share in the price range that will allow JP Morgan Cazenove to purchase the maximum number of Ordinary Share for a total cost not exceeding £1.05 billion'. What's in it for me except to sell my shares at significantly below their current value? Surely I have missed something or how much are Wood paying the broker for this wonderful piece of advice?!
