Think that is 100% of the gains all lost now, pretty sure it was 1p bid on the day of the spike before it started moving.

Getting there for perhaps a punt for me

Dave4545.....You need to know what the normal lead times are and it may differ from area to area due to availability of fitters and materials but if true across all the stores that may be a very good sign of a long and strong order book.

Conversely it can also mean you lose business if another supplier can offer a similar fitted kitchen by September. The year end has already passed so it will not affect the final results to June 2021 but if they do a trading update over the next few weeks then it will be that strong forward orders number that shareholders will be looking out for.

Just to be clear though.....this is not a stock for trading and you need to be a long term investor as the spread is wide and sometimes there is simply no stock available so the spike and large numbers of trades on Monday/Tuesday was a rarity.

Wren are a big company have you seen the size of the factory? If JLH have the same operational ambitions, you won't need a great deal of planning in your exit strategy ?

MRF.....To be fair I am not new to JLH and have been a holder for at least eight years but I am gaining confidence that the strategy is now in place to do much more online/virtually and not just depend on stores.

That allied with the fact that huge numbers of people have disposable income/savings built up over the last few years that they want to spend on their homes rather than plough into fast cars or holidays. This is a trend of the pandemic so JLH kitchens, bedrooms and studies should be a beneficiary and will hopefully be getting their fair share and more in orders coming through

Flurry of buying at the close, totalling 1.5m. Probably someone smart who sold everything they could into the ramp, and then has just bought it back at the lower price. You could probably have made 0.5p “turn”. If you had bought when the share price was down at 0.5p, you would now have an entirely clean holding, with zero cost !

Lot of ifs in there !

Todays RNS puts a slightly different perspective on part of the recent spike.

Still, the life's gone out the stock now and bar a bid it is likely to sink further imo.

Still, I guess you nicked a few quid dave4545, well done.

People thought this stock was connected with the John Lewis news at start of the week and the mm's did the rest, allowing big holders to exit or slice huge amounts propped up by small pi's chasing the spike

Just caught up with JLH.

I've been been out of investment action for ten days with other problems, during which time I got stopped out here. I'd set a price I never expected the share to reach in the short-term.

I'm amazed JLH got caught up in twitter nonsense. It's such an exceedingly dull share, but was a great investment at 60p a few months ago.

Given the company didn't have any short-term liquidity issues, at 60p it was being given away at a crazy discount to intrinsic value.

What people forget is stale/quiet stocks have a spike like this and for those in a while it's a golden opportunity to get out hence you see those massive block sales.

Look at the chart it was around 0.4p a year ago so 5 folded on the spike high.

I'm sure there's a buy here business is doing very well now but always best to wait a week minimum after a big spike

I would just like to point out that nobody will be shorting this company as it is too illiquid, too wide a spread and frankly no availability to borrow the stock.
