17/6/2015 20:30 | Interesting takeover involving our 70% shareholder JAB Holdings 'Coty set to buy P&G’s beauty business' PARIS — Coty is on track to acquire Procter & Gamble’s beauty business in a $12bn deal that would make the US cosmetic company the world leader in perfume and hair care, sources close to the matter said. If the deal goes though, Coty would get its hands on brands such as Gucci and Hugo Boss perfume, Wella and Clairol hair care products and Max Factor and Cover Girl make-up, part of its strategy to reverse its own declining sales trends. Luxembourg-based JAB Holdings, the billionaire Reimann family’s investment firm which controls 75% of Coty, would own about a third of the equity in the combined business and about 47%-48% of voting rights, the sources said. JAB controls fashion brands Bally and Belstaff, shoe maker Jimmy Choo and coffee company DE Master Blenders 1753, which is set to merge with the coffee business of Mondelez International. JAB’s assets under management reached $39bn this year, up from $14bn in December 2011. | philanderer
17/6/2015 17:44 | I have suffered a bit of a dip on MAB1 but feel pretty sure it will recover. Reduced some exposure, generally, a while back if I'm honest. I think this week has probably been a buying opportunity; I can picture, suddenly, the Greek thing being solved and then perhaps a whoosh again! But what do I know 8-) t | hazl

16/6/2015 12:06 | "Jimmy Choo puts on action-packed show for Spring/Summer 2016 men's collection launch Rather than have models showing off the Spring/Summer 16 line at a leisurely pace, the fashion house opted for an extreme-sports set. Ramps replaced a runway and models hit skateboards and BMX bikes to give the front row a show to remember. They even enlisted the help of a professional, Mark Webb, to add authenticity. "Welcome to The Jimmy Choo Sporting Club, watch this space to see the men's #SS16 collection in action #LCM (sic)" the brand posted on Twitter alongside shots from the show. "Five times BMX world champion @thewebbieshow hits the skate ramp wearing the #JimmyChoo VARLEY trainer #LCM (sic)" If viewers could tear their eyes away from the impressive stunts to notice the shoes, they will have been greeted with an array of colourful trainers. One model wore a bright yellow shirt, waistcoat, tie and yellow-and-blue trainers to ride a matching skateboard, while another was dressed in a deep blue shirt, tie and jeans with black trainers with yellow detail. There was also a pair of white sneakers with reflective silver panels. Burberry was also among the labels showing their new collections yesterday. However, it decided to stick to a more traditional format, with models hitting the runway by foot. There were crisp blazers with chunky scarves, classic beige trench coats and zebra-print coats on offer. Model Suki Waterhouse was among the front row. | philanderer

11/6/2015 18:06 | still here but its a bit of a non-mover lately a Blackrock pdf has some interesting conclusions on the Chinese market and we have a connection,in my opinion.... '.Does China’s slowdown spell doom for its equity market? High GDP growth often does not translate into high asset prices, as detailed in Risk and Resilience of September 2013. And consumption is likely to grow faster than GDP as China rebalances. Conclusion: Companies benefiting from domestic demand and reforms can still be winners' | hazl
