02/2/2012 12:47 | hot off the press.... and hopefully nobody caught me reading Bus World.... To my mind this demonstrates pretty impressive success and shows that revenue will not be limited to the 1500 units pa from their new factory..... superb! OPTARE ENTERS SMALL BUS MARKET WITH THE BONITO Published at 02.02.2012 in Company news, Minibuses Optare has announced its intention to enter the small and accessible bus market this year, with an all new Optare-badged model, called Bonito. The vehicle will be produced in the Netherlands by Plastisol to Optare's specification. It will go on sale to British operators from June, with export sales in other European markets following on. The Bonito uses a fully integrated composite body structure with accommodation for up to 16 passengers and no separate chassis. It is based on the Fiat Ducato Maxi light commercial vehicle, which features a gross vehicle weight of four tonnes, a 2,999cc 157bhp diesel engine, and a choice of six-speed manual or semi-automatic transmission. In due course, Optare will offer specification options that it believes will make the Bonito attractive for all major UK city operations. Meanwhile, Optare is to withdraw from the small luxury coach market, bringing to an end its long term partnership with Spanish coachbuilder Ferqui, which has supplied a range of Optare-badged, Mercedes-based products. | richscotsman
01/2/2012 08:10 | Lol - best get my broker to lock them in the safe! Seriously though - a £60m order books that is growing fast. Even at £60m t/o (and there is no reason to believe that they can't do more than that) you would expect absolutely minimum of 5% margin, again being conservative. With a PE of 15, the mcap should be c£45m. In my view T/O should get to £120m and margin closer to 10% so more like £90m - equating to roughly a ten bagger from here. That is before you look at licensing revenues and potential other deals. I think this has more 20 bag potential than most stocks on Aim in the next couple of years, particularly with the limited competition in the UK market and the forthcoming legislative requirements for buses. If this was not the case then why would Mr Souter have tried an abortive T/O offer. BOLA Rich | richscotsman
31/1/2012 21:25 | to which particular clause in the Companies Act are you refering? I can find no such reference to stealing shares. Before I give you the quote below I would like to remind you that Market Manipulation is a serious criminal offence and warn you that I believe that you are deliberately misrepresenting fact with a view to buying in cheaply tommorow..... definition follows and can't say that I blame you... A scheme of arrangement (or a "scheme of reconstruction") is a court-approved agreement between a company and its shareholders or creditors (e.g. lenders or debenture holders). It may effect mergers and amalgamations and may alter shareholder or creditor rights. Schemes of arrangement are used to execute arbitrary changes in the structure of a business and thus are used when a reorganisation cannot be achieved by other means. They may be used for rescheduling debt, for takeovers, and for returns of capital, among other purposes. In the United Kingdom, the relevant provisions for effecting a scheme of arrangement are found in the Companies Act 2006, Part 26 (ss.895-901) and Part 27 (special rules for public companies). | richscotsman
31/1/2012 19:57 | 75% means they can steal your shares | sir rational
31/1/2012 19:56 | nope - I feel pretty confident that nobody gets to steal my shares.... nice try | richscotsman
31/1/2012 19:52 | Awesome movement by OCH at the moment. Now the leading 10 bagger tipped this year. | sicilian_kan

31/1/2012 19:46 | Sir - please explain your reading of the Companies Act as mine differs... | richscotsman
31/1/2012 19:45 | Scheme of arrangement. | sir rational
31/1/2012 19:42 | Nope - they just need 75% to steal your shares. | sir rational
31/1/2012 19:36 | Rich Thanks for that. | superhoop2
31/1/2012 19:22 | no... if you are geeky enough to know the Companies Act then (dyor) they have to get their hands on 90% first - then they can force a transaction at the highest price they have paid for the last 12 months. They could make an offer at any price however I would suspect that they are very wise individuals (hence their billions) and therefore recognise the value of being listed on the lse when it comes to procurement. My personal view is that they will be comfortable with 75% and control of the business whilst being a UK company for marketing purposes. If the stock goes nuts who cares - there is a list the length of my arm at the moment of cheap stocks to buy and they are better getting control today and worrying about the last few percent later... all in my opinion but genuinely felt and thought through. DYOR but I rate this company strongly. Rich | richscotsman
31/1/2012 19:03 | Lads What if Ashok decide they want the whole company and offer the remaining shareholders say .75p ... do we have to accept it? And if we don't can they take it all anyway. I've been here for a very long time and to think now that they have a promising future it could all go pear shape gives me a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach. | superhoop2

31/1/2012 10:48 | grabster - If you don't already know, the messaging system icon is the envelope symbol at the top left of this page next to the yellow log out symbol. Us blue posters can send PMs but others can only receive them. | marab
31/1/2012 10:46 | grabster - I have copied the text of the RouteOne article and sent it to you by ADVFN personal messaging system. Copy it into Word or something then you can do what you like with it. To copy from the PM, highlight the whole text, then hold down the CTRL key and press C. Go to WORD or whatever and then hold down the CTRL key and press V. Those e-mags can be tricky but I just copied the text into word. Hope that helps. | marab |
