13/12/2019 18:36 | 5 years, you are still deluded...With Labour 140 behind, a boundary change to lose a few dozen small red seats to come, lose Scotland's 50 SNP seats & Sir Boris can rule for 5O years... | the white house
13/12/2019 18:28 | I dont trust Boris to deliver a hard, no deal Brexit. He will deliver Theresa Mays deal, which isnt Brexit at all. Boris has a Remainer family, a Remainer girlfriend and was a Remainer until 2016. We will start to see the real Johnson now! | johnwise
13/12/2019 09:34 | Corbyn Nation wrecking Communists have been crushed. Perfect, love it Tory for another 5 years. Looking forward to continuing with more food banks, longer waiting time at A&R, zero hour work contracts, pothole roads and uncontrolled immigration .. | johnwise

10/12/2019 09:27 | It's not good news if you own a pub in one of these small towns that is suddenly going to get a Wetherspoons. I was in the Coalville Spoons a few months ago. Huge pub with typical excellent offering. Just impossible to compete against. | kinwah

07/12/2019 17:43 | The Tories could never win in the seats that the Brexit party are standing in.. Nigel agreed to stand down where the Tories can win but the Tories haven't reciprocated. Shameful. We NEED the Brexit party to win a number of these seats so they can hold Boris to his word on the deal, No Deal and not his Mrs Mays deal. If you are in one of the 60 areas where the Brexit Party are standing then vote for them. | johnwise

30/11/2019 08:01 | The standards of the Toby Carvery is of a much variable quality: being sometimes good and sometimes not so, the days of a guaranteed high standard quality seem to have gone; much the same as the high turnover of management and staff; with the taking-on You just can't get the staff these days.. | johnwise
28/11/2019 17:54 | My son and his chum have found that Toby Carvery do an all you can eat breakfast for £4.39 plus you can go back for more. Seems their new port of call if they want a big breakfast. | ignoble
24/11/2019 11:04 | Interesting snippet from today’s Sunday Telegraph:- Also worth noting is Wetherspoon’s foray into the hotel world, in most cases letting rooms over its pubs. The group still takes more money from slot machines than it does from overnight stays in its 1,200 rooms but it is getting noticed. Last month it shocked some of its sniffy competitors by coming joint top in the annual hotel poll conducted by consumer watchdog Which? A further contributor to value has been the gradual conversion of leaseholds into freeholds where possible. Over the past decade the proportion of freeholds has increased from 40pc to about 60pc of the pub estate. The shares remain the most expensive in the sector but it should be noted that Wetherspoon’s cash flows are above average too. Buyers casting around for the next pub chain to take private might not have given the group, in which Martin retains a 32pc stake, a second look. But the founder turns 65 next year, so who knows? | standish11
13/11/2019 10:35 | Big Tim is a legend, should be a Sir by now...Brilliant strategy of heading towards a freehold owned state.Closing the worst 4 or 10 pubs every year is exactly what all the other restaurant/bars fail to do and then they go bust. The number crunchers come in and say well x are profitable and y are not. So why weren't they shut earlier like Big Tim does. After shutting a few dozen over the just couple of years, every venue could well be profitable, amazingIreland is booming also, but don't tell anyone... | the white house

07/11/2019 13:07 | Tory policy on brexit, talk tough then capitulate. When found out, change leader, talk tough then capitulate, no deal off the table. Farage is the only one to trust. The only one who will deliver the referendum result. The rest will just get your vote and then ignore you, as they always do. We heard this 'wasted vote', 'will let Corbyn in' scaremongering at the last election. We gave the Tories the benefit of the doubt and look where it got us. Never again, my vote goes to Farage's Brexit Party | johnwise
03/11/2019 06:55 | Percent voting to leave the EU | johnwise
02/11/2019 22:55 | For over three years the majority of the establishment Tory party MPs have been flat out delaying and more to their aim trying to completely cancel our leaving the EU, and in doing so they have used every undemocratic deception they could come up with. Then having broken each and every promise they ever made, they are once again blatantly asking you to forget all that and trust them and put them back into power again. So in reality, vote Tory and your guaranteed to get more of the same. | johnwise |
