I have taken the time to read May's deal. It gives the EU via the EUCJ total control over the UK. It also allows the EU to take what-ever monies id wants from the UK to pay for EU immigration. It stops any one in the UK from discussing the details yet leaves us permanently shackled to EU rules. It leaves us much worse off than now and with no say or representation at the EU. Interestingly it also confirms that the EU have not complied with their own "Article 50" procedures. It is a total "stitch up" devised by Merkel and swallowed by May. We voted out and out means out.

The Conservatives are heading for political oblivion. How have they been so stupid? Unbelievable that they seem to be completely unaware of the public's anger at their treachery. NO DEAL, OR NO CONSERVATIVE PARTY! Simple.

Any thoughts on the share price rise following the half year results? Hardly like JDW was a cheap share. 19% profit dip doesn't tally with 6% share price rise. No idea what caused 4% rise today...

The young are getting older. The age profile remains more or less the same. Many young voted leave, my children did. Cameron gave us the vote as they could never agree. We voted to leave. There will be hell to pay if we do not.

The deal has failed twice and is still the same unchanged vassal trap! No deal is still better than a punishment divorce bill and set of constraints, and we save £38bn. And we have the WTO and GATT deals. Be brave, be courage, deliver on the referendum and protect democracy

It is good that at last, people are recognising the real divide in Brexit votes was young versus old.
The numbers from polls, even allowing for the usual errors are staggering.

75% of voters in the young category, up to 35, voted remain.
75% of voters in the older category, voted to leave.

It seems those who were born in the period 1935-1952 and influenced by the historical aftermath, are isolationist remainers, filled with patriotic belief that we are a great country standing alone.
They are all drawing state pensions today and their working days are mostly over.

The young are opposite. Well travelled and better educated, they are used to mixing with and possibly dating or marrying 'Johnny Foreigner'.
They see Europe as next-door, a collection of lovely like minded countries with many friends therein, a place they have visited.

My Dad's generation thought that Europe is a place you drop bombs on or invade. He was influenced by an enforced beach holiday he took in Normandy starting June 8th 1944. (D day+4).

the young are right about this. The Tories should be cautious about this, the old are a wasting asset, a diminishing band. Remember, the young may be only 40% of the voters, but they are 100% of the future.

Ariane, 71% of 18 to 24 year olds voted to Remain, 68% of people with degrees voted Remain. Polls are now showing 82% of 18 to 24 year olds would vote to stay.

JD Wetherspoons (JDW) shares held firm after half-year results that revealed like-for-like sales growth of 6.3 per cent, comprised of increased growth across bar sales, food, fruit and slot machines and hotel rooms. Bar sales made up 61 per cent of total sales, followed by food with 36 per cent. Operating profits fell by 14.2 per cent to £63.5m - rising labour costs, repairs, utilities, interest and depreciation all contributed.

I would certainly love to be able to vote and again until we get the answer that

If EU membership is extended to 2021, it would be ridiculous to still be bound by a referendum that happened five years earlier. So many of the elderly pro Brexit voters will have died any so many pro EU young voters will have joined the electoral register, The double tragedy of the 2016 referendum was the elderly, with a very limited life span prevailed over the young, who have their whole lives before them and the uneducated outvoted the educated as unfortunately they are given equal voting power.

Arguing about Brexit has become a national sport.
But Tim Martin was unprofessional in his results report to bang on about it.
He is a passionate Brexiteer, a real headbanger.

We must all have a truce on an outstanding issue;

Some say a second referendum is more democratic now that we know more about the complex issues, and that it would be undemocratic not to have a new vote in view of the chaos.

Hard line Brexiteers fear that it may be a trick to reverse the original decision, and they may lose a second vote, possibly quite badly. For some reason they think a second vote, which without doubt would attract more voters than the first votes 72%, is not democratic.
'once the suckers have been tricked and scammed, they should stay tricked and scammed'.

All would accept the second vote.

Farage is a clown who appeals to child like minds.

As if being a full time EU. MP is not a proper job.
Farage was a trader who just pushed money around in the City.
Many think that is not a proper job.

Interesting how some of Farages team were short stirling on the night of the referendum, and made a killing when it collapsed.
Who know if much of his campaign donations to fund his campaign came from Russia as many think.
Andrew Marr interviewed his so called donor, and things did not seem right.

And his close links to Trump look dubious.
Trump is desperate for huge food selling trade deal with the UK to bale out his struggling farmers.
The farm lobby is very powerful in America, and the UK food market is significant.

Be sensibly cautious about trusting Farage, don't be suckers, there are things going on here that none of us understand. Farage has done well out of the EU. and has stated that he will draw his £70,000 EU. pension. Actions not words are what matter.
For all his so called hatred of the EU. he has made a career out of it, with a fat pension as well. He has failed in his attempts to be an MP.
Hoping Mays compromise goes through. Most UK citizens are sensible and this will give them what most voted for.
Farage JRM Johnson will be diminished by a successful deal. A sensible deal will be good for the country.
But these men are so self serving they would destroy the UK economy rather than step out of the limelight.
