23/7/2009 10:11 | UK retail sales jump 1.2% in June :-) Way ahead of what was expected. July 23 (Bloomberg) -- U.K. retail sales jumped four times as much as economists forecast in June as signs of improvement in the economy and discounts encouraged shoppers to buy more food and clothing. Economists predicted a 0.3 percent increase, the median of 28 forecasts in a Bloomberg News survey shows. From a year earlier, sales rose 2.9%................ | cockneyrebel

16/7/2009 11:26 | Go and have a look at Sports Direct's results today to see how cheap these are. What's the headline at SPD 'to focus on debt reduction' lol. JD. has no debt to speak of, it's increasing the divi fast rather than reducing it, Sales are actually growing around 13% @ JD while they are falling 8% @ SPD. JD. should be over a teener a share on comparisons - they will continue re-rating up towards that imo. CR | cockneyrebel
12/7/2009 11:13 | Here's a comparison - JD Sports v Sports Direct: JD. makes roughtly the same pre-tax profit as SPD yet the market cap is half that of SPD. JD. has no net debt to speak of, SPD has net debt of 465m, as much as the mkt cap nearly. JD. pays a 3% yield compared to the 1% from SPD. JD. appears to be on a valuation miles under SPD imo. JD. will re-rate come the imterims imo. CR | cockneyrebel

10/7/2009 07:15 | :-) CR | cockneyrebel
