That's a break out - usually rises a quid or more over the following weeks after a break out.

Break out? Well it could be a major one given how long its taken. And I'm sure SCSW readers will be happy to pay more for it once its on the move

UK retail sales jump 1.2% in June :-) Way ahead of what was expected.

July 23 (Bloomberg) -- U.K. retail sales jumped four times as much as economists forecast in June as signs of improvement in the economy and discounts encouraged shoppers to buy more food and clothing.

Sales climbed 1.2 percent from May, when they dropped 0.9 percent, the Office for National Statistics said today in London. Economists predicted a 0.3 percent increase, the median of 28 forecasts in a Bloomberg News survey shows. From a year earlier, sales rose 2.9%.........................

Go and have a look at Sports Direct's results today to see how cheap these are.

What's the headline at SPD 'to focus on debt reduction' lol. JD. has no debt to speak of, it's increasing the divi fast rather than reducing it, Sales are actually growing around 13% @ JD while they are falling 8% @ SPD.

JD. should be over a teener a share on comparisons - they will continue re-rating up towards that imo.

Here's a comparison - JD Sports v Sports Direct:

JD. makes roughtly the same pre-tax profit as SPD yet the market cap is half that of SPD.

JD. has no net debt to speak of, SPD has net debt of 465m, as much as the mkt cap nearly.

JD. pays a 3% yield compared to the 1% from SPD.

JD. appears to be on a valuation miles under SPD imo.

JD. will re-rate come the imterims imo.

Not quite as cheap as MUBL, but IMHO easily the cheapest fully-listed retailer and the same Chairman as MUBL
