30/9/2005 09:29 | Had these on my watchlist for a while now, but surely the price is down today because of a mild profit warning: Whilst the directors are pleased with the Company's performance in the first half of the year, the second half has been less robust to date, with the tightening of PRC Government fiscal policy resulting in a reduced ability of the Company's Chinese customers to obtain mortgage finance for purchases. Consequently, the Directors expect a lower level of unit sales of trailer pump in the second half. Sales of larger ticket line and boom pumps are not now expected before the fourth quarter. | sranmal
30/9/2005 09:27 | I thought I did well to buy when it dipped to float price. Bit dissappointed today. Alas no spare funds to buy any more at these levels. | flashheart

26/9/2005 09:21 | Have just looked on the TDW website for more info on JWY and the broker Hardman & Co have a forcast EPS of 6.6p for these and a PE of 5.15! Which would make these cheap as chips, IMHO. | geoffcapes
26/9/2005 09:17 | The website is quite impressive, as are some of the projects which JWY have been involved with. Am tempted to buy some more. | geoffcapes

23/9/2005 17:54 | Trying not to ramp but it is possible that this company may be incredibly undervalued. Of course at the moment there is quite rightly a suspicion of Chinese companies (do they have the same profit motive, will they ever pay dividends ?). Well if say JWY wants to raise further cash (and with the huge potential growth it may well do), it will have to show itself as being profit minded and at least intimate that dividends are on the way. There is also the problem of lack of news. The owners probably do not yet realise the importance for keeping a high share price. But this will presumably change. Given that sales and profits increase rapidly, how should a company like JWY be valued ? I think we are all looking at it in terms of our own domestic markets. US P/E ratos are rightly higher than here as growth can be maintained for longer before markets are mature. But China ... Companies like JWY may be able to grow turnover at say 15% + and profits at say 20% + , for many years, maybe 15,20 or even 25 years. The Chinese industrial revolution only affects 200 million or so at present. There are another billion still working on the land. The construction industry may be a growth sector for many years to come. So maybe when risks outlined above are taken out of the equation we could see P/E ratios of 30 or 40 being easily justifiable even though we would normally think of those multiples in only the fastest growing Western tech companies. Just a thought... | arthurly
